Those have een around for a while. Attain, GTO and I think one other company all amke 5 lug front hubs for the S13's now...

Too bad I already invested so much money in my wheels and tires....

I haven't seen an s14 hub/bearing combo up close, but is there any way to separate them w/o damage to the hub? If so, do you think bearings may be the same in the s13/s14? I may have to look @ my fsms.

ok, just checked...apparently the s13's hub and bearing is separable. The s14's manual does not state whether it is or not. So my idea goes as follows. If the outer diameter of the bearings is the same (inner is obviously not), then why not jut press out the s14's bearing and press in a new s13 bearing into the s14's hub? This would leave you w/an identical clone of the attain or GTO. @ 30 bux per bearing (last time I checked w/timkin), it seems like a much more feasible and financially better option. Any one w/s14 experience care to provide some info?

I do know that the fron S14 bearing/hub are only available together (there's just one part number for both pieces). The bearings can be removed.Seems like a great solution. S14 hubs/bearings are under $100 each from Courtesy, Pinnacle, etc. Much cheaper than GTO or Attain.

s14 spindle is larger than s13 therefore the s14 bearing/hub assy(press fit) inner diameter is too large to just put onto the S13 spindle. This is why the entire s14 assy is swapped to the s13. One of you should buy s14 and s13 hubs and check bearing interchangeability.

if this has been out for more than two years now , thats wierd that no one here in the states has took in consideration on making these, making them cheaper and a product they we would buy. Dont you think?Usually people buy the whole assembly from the s14 in which there cinnected if its used. i would like to know if they interchange though

Consider that the s13 chassis hasn't been available stateside since 94 and even then, nobody liked the car.

Also consider that the 180sx has been built and sold up until 98 in Japan and are still relatively new examples of the cars and huge aftermarket in Japan.

Only recently are the s13 chassis a hit here in the US and still parts are slow to come, because of such a small (relatively) market. We may think the world of the S chassis, but most do not.

However, the tide is turning in our favor, slowly but surely. Time will tell I suppose.

true....I"m going to call my local timken dealer and see if they can get me the bearing outer diameters. I'll also ask for the 300zx's bearing and see what that turns up...

well, s13 bearing: (OD: 68MM) z32 bearing: (OD: 76MM)<96 (possibly turbo)

so z32's is out, and s14 is only sold as hub/bearing assembly..so we need those dimensions (anyone @ a dealership?)

I found this pic from SCC's project Silvia. From L to R, S14 SE 5 lug, S14 4 lug, and S13 4 lug.The outer diameter of the bearings look very close in size.Eidt: Now that I look closer, I realize the raised lip around the bearings is part of the hub, not the actual bearings. The lip on the S13 looks thicker so the diameter may not be the same.

you could get a wheel spacers place to make you a 4 bolt to 5 bolt conversion spacer, but i dunno how much stress a piece like that could take before it broke... or some people just drill the hub for 5 bolt and weld in studs. (if you are looking for cheap ways for 5 lug swap)

I would love the 5-lugs but I already dumped $800 into the 5zigen wheels in 4-lug.
