Found an 89 coupe,AT....

for $700. Says it has (engine noise). I figure that is a good price even if the engine is getting ready to go as long as the body is in good shape.

I want to do a CA or SR swap. But, I think if I buy this car I will put a KA24DE and straight drive transmission in it for the time being.

So, what do you guys think?

Do you want to go through the little bit of extra work involved in converting from auto to manual? If you don't mind, it sounds like a good deal.

Either way I go, I am gonna do a transmission swap. I may wait until I get the money for a J-Spec swap. I am thinking about staying auto until then. Not sure thou.

Luckily I have two good friends that are extremly good shade tree mechanics. One who has a step dad that is defined as the best mechanic in the country. We all know at least one of those. They are handy to have around. Especially when they work dirt cheap.
