so i was at the junkyard just checking stuff out and i see a pretty clean looking Z31 turbo.Pop the hood, its untouched so i started taking stuff out so i could salvage the turbo.Had to leave early before i was finished, so im going back tomorrow.I drive a 89 240 coupe w/96 KA24DE.I was thinking about just getting a exhaust/turbo manifold made by a local tuning/performance shop.Would it be worth it?i have stock exhaust except for a stupid muffler that came w/the car.And an intake.I figure I want boost, but i dont want to go SR cuz those are a dime a dozen now a days, and i like my torque.Plus how good are these z31 turboes?Would i see much of a hp difference?or should i just sell it and buy a different turbo?Give me your input.thanks

Please dont post if your going to argue about me not wanting a SR.Last time that happened, the thread got locked.

I too am peicing together a z31 turbo, I've been researching and found that the z31 turbos spool up pretty quick at like 2500 +/- and are good for about 250 +/-

z31 turbo's are pretty good turbo's from the factory. There's a really good write up on a Z31 t3 install somewhere on this site. Use the search button and it gets a lot easier. It helped me install my Z31 t3 setup. I went with an external wastegate w/ a 6lb spring (just to be safe on my stock KA). I did about a weeks worth of researching and now I'm really happy with the results. Havn't got it dynoed yet. Waiting to get injectors and fuel pump and fpr. Overall, I say it's worth it. Mine hits full boost at a little under 2500. Well good luck. Just make sure you do some research first. It'll be a lot easier...trust me.
