WELCOME TO THE FORUM!!

Z24The Z24 is a 2.4 L (2389 cc) engine produced from 1983 through August 1989. A fuel injected version was produced starting in April 1985. It produces 103 hp (77 kW).

Applications:

Datsun Truck Nissan Hardbody Truck Nissan Pathfinder Nissan Van Note: All Z20, Z22 and Z24 engines were known as NAPS-Z (NAPZ or NAPEZ) engines. NAPS for Nissan Anti-Pollution System. All NAPZ motors had dual sparkplugs per cylinder except the pre-82 versions. However all NAPZ engines sold in California reportedly had dual plug heads regardless of the year.

The fuel injected version referenced above was denoted as the Z24i (Throttle Body Fuel Injection) and was first available in the Nissan Model 720 ST pickup during the 1986 crossover year to the (1986.5) D21 Hardbody and was later replaced by the KA24E engine. Beside fuel injection, a significant change for the Z24i was the addition of an optical crank angle sensor in the distributor rather than a vacuum advance and ignition module. This allowed for more precise engine management for the fuel injection system.

The General Specifications for the Z24 are:

Engine Type: - Inline 4 cylinder 4 Stroke Engine Displacement - 2389 cc (146.8 c.i.) Bore x Stroke:- 89.0 × 96.0 mm (3.50 x 3.78 in) Compression Ratio:- 8.3 : 1

Power Ratings were:

- Z24 -

Years - 1984 - 1986 Power - 103 hp (77 kW) @ 4800 rpm Torque - 134 ft·lbf (182 N·m) @ 2800 rpm

- z24i -

Years - 1986 - 1987 Power - 103 hp (77 kW) @ 4800 rpm Torque - 134 ft·lbf (182 N·m) @ 2800 rpm Years - 1988 - 1989 Power - 106 hp (79 kW) @ 4800 rpm Torque - 137 ft·lbf (186 N·m) @ 2400 rpm

Here is the info on the KA....I don't think you can make them work.

BREAD BOX- SEE IM A NOOB WHEN IT COMES TO THIS I KNOW THE 90 IS FUEL INJUCTED AND ALL THAT BUT SEE IT IS ONLY THE BLOCK AND THE BLOCK ALONE I NEED AND MY HEAD FROM MY 85 WILL GO ON IT BUT... IM NOT SHURE ABOUT THE DISTRIBUTER AND OIL PUMP SITUATION...

PEZI303- I HAD SEEN YOURS MINE IS JUST A SINGLE CAB THOUGH AND I LOWERED MINE MUCH LIKE YOURS BUT I THINK IM LOWER I HAVE A TOTAL OF -4 INCHES IT IS A LITTLE BUMPY BUT CORNERS AND DRIFTS LIKE DREAM... WONDERING HOW DID YOU FIND THE BLACK CORNERS AND TAILS OR DID YOU DO IT YOURSELF...???

ILOVEMYMINI- THANX FOR THE LINKS ON MOTOR SHOPS AND TEK HELP IV SEEN THE SPECS AND I BELIEVE THE MOTOR BLOCK WILL WORK BUT IM STILL WORRIED THAT THE DISTRIBUTER AND OILPUMP IS DIFFERENT... BUT I WISH YOU DIDNT NEED YOUR BLOCK I WOULD SO BUY IT FROM YOU

YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT YOUR OVERHEATING PROBLEM SEE MINE WAS A BELT BROKE ON A ONE HR TRIP I DIDNT HEAR THE BELT BRAKE AND THAT BELT RUNS MY ALTANATOR & WATERPUMP SO WHEN THE BATTERY DIED IT DIDNT MOVE THE TEMP GAUDGE SO I NEVER KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON TILL THE TRUCK DIED... WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT THE HEAD WAS WORPED I HAD IT FIXED AND PUT IT ALL BACK TOGETHER HOPING THAT WAS ALL TO MY PROBLEMS WHEN I ADDED WATER TO THE RADIATOR I HURD GURGLING THROUGH THE INTAKE I ROLED THE MOTOR OVER WITH NO PLUGS IN IT AND IT SHOT WATER OUT THE CYLENDERS BASICALLY TELLING ME THE BLOCK IS CRACKED... SO IF YOUR GANA DO THE MOTOR MIGHT AS WELL HAVE THE BLOCK CHECKED SO YOU DONT END UP LIKE ME...

Well if you grab the harness and ecu too. Wire that sucker up. KA24e's are surprisingly fun motors.

just so we are clear it is a z24 block and a ka24e block that are almost the same.

KA20 doesn't exist. K20 is rsx motor.

I got the GSt in trade for my 99civic SI. Found out later that it has a 6bolt swap, so no crankwalk for me. Not sure what turbo is on it, but I hate it. I know nothing bout dsms, Always like the way eclipses looked.

Open the local phone book and see if there is one in a yard near you. These trucks got abused alot so you might find one.
