Yea bud, i got the hook up in Northern Va. LMK if you need some work done or even some advice, i have a stupid amount of experience with the Ka.

Ooo actually it looks like you live in the far southern part of Va. Well that sucks ^^. Either way, iv got a full shop and a professional fabricator for downpipes, exhaust and intercooler pipes.

Two things you don't ever want to do...

Talk about the SR being better then the KA in a forum dedicated to the KA and talking about things that you have no REAL WORLD experience with.

My post was on the money...

It's my job is to make sure the information that is posted here is factual...period. Give me a 3k budget on ANY KA and I'll own your SR...ALL DAY EVERY DAY. But we're not talking about the SR anymore...he bought the KA, is going to boost the KA and we're going to help him do it the best way possible. Point? What you said was wrong and reflects on your knowledge level pertaining to the KA. In short, if don't know...don't post. Or atleast don't be upset when someone corrects you.

If you re-read this thread you'll see how off topic you made it go by posting what you did and the manner you did it.

Pay attention, use some friggin grammar and stay on topic.

Well i don't have no real world experience but a couple months back i was thinking about putting a turbo on my ka24de. I wasn't going the ebay route. I looked up alot of information about the holset and everything to do to make it work. But at the end i have a job at the airport that has a horrible schedule and im in college... i don't have the time along with i kinda had the money but i would be broke in the long run. But everything that you said about the ka was correct. But i never though it was already a high compression motor along with please read and learn how to post advice... and yeah i was off topic but that was just my opinon.. nothing was wrong about it. The guy could either read it or not. And i already told him 2 times i believe if he wants to boost his ka then go for it...

you could put it in the classifieds section. But you could just keep it bc once you go turbo you are gonna need a 3" exhuast or close to it.

The problem lies in your inability to communicate effectively. You don't use the correct words and you don't use the proper grammar. Slow down and take your time so that you are understood clearly. This isn't gen chat or a cell phone text conversation. It's a tech forum...

I understand that your opinion about the SR means something to you. But it is not OK to post that in here. We have a long history of debating which motor is better and why etc. Even mentioning you should go SR is a bad thing in this forum and is frowned upon. Now you know, no harm no foul.

My friend added his turbo kit to his single cam when it had 270,000 miles, tuned it with a safc 2, and took it to thunder hill drift events almost every weekand and it was also his daily driver and it ran great. He took off the kit for smog and is re-turboing it right now and the car now ha 290,000 orginal miles no rebuilds or nothin. Ive been around 240's for around 7 years and from what I have personally seen the KA can take a crapton of abuse and beatings and to me is one of the strongest 4 cylinder engines around.

First and foremost post count means d!ck.

Second, if I bougt an engine for $25 I don't care what it is or what car its in. If it works, I'd boost the hell out of it until it blew up. You can't go wrong with a $25 start to a project.

the build has begun..... im begining to take the stock manifold and make it into a turbo manifold....were going to try and keep the main part of the budget for a good turbo, intercooler and bov. i saw a intake planum for about $265 and runners with butterflies removed for $70 would these be a good buy for the project?

You need some sort of tuning for all that as well.

New spark plugs, wires, and fuel filter are good ideas. A fuel pump for 550 injectors is a good idea too.

How are you getting an HKS SSQV for $50 and a boost controller for $20? I'd personally weary of deals that look too good to be true.
