So here I am being all proud of the fact that my car is rare when in the past month I have run into TWO others here in Surrey!!!!

Was I ever surprised to see them!!!

One was driving ahead of me and I raced to catch up and did at the stop light where we chatted a bit about the car (hers was red and in rougher shape than mine...so I said...get it fixed...it's a rare car and worth it! She had it brought in from the states many years ago!

And THEN two days later I pull into my daycare to pick up my son and THERE parked is another one...black like mine!!!! My mouth literally dropped open!!! I chatted with her for a bit, and her husband works for a chevy dealership and had Nissan bring hers in...her's is a Canadian one!!! I didn't even know they made Canadian versions! Not much difference except the odometre is metric on hers. Should I tell her to register hers on this site? Or are you only tracking American models?

Yeah.. what he said.

Anytime you have a chance to recruit another member to the forum.. please do!

I'm tracking all the vin number's I can find. I think all the Cdn cars are mixed into the VIN number runs that we are tracking.. so that will help verify my theory.

Eikon - Any idea how many verts are still on the road? Of the 8,320 I bet that number is cut in half by now.

Rock on Canadian Verts!!! My family is at Lake Tremblant right now!

I'd say 1/2 is probably a fair guess...

I've heard estimates of around 3,000. There's a white one far east of me and a red one far west. Only two I know if in my area...haven't spoken to either owner.

I could work on an exact count this weekend... but I'd say somewhere around 200 NICO 'vert owners.

There's gotta be more than 4000 of them, just see too many women and older men driving around in them that would never be on here.

Thanks for making me feel better about my car still being quite rare

I'm still waiting for my boot to arrive (I've paid for it) and I can't wait to get it and get some more pics! This weekend I am replacing the antenna (so it will be shiney and chrome) and getting chrome tips for my exhaust pipes...mine were removed for some reason and are kinda ugly right now.

There are so many things I want to do for the car... but can't afford to do it ALL now...but that's okay... makes it all the more exciting as I get things done one at a time!!!!

PS...Chad I checked out your vert...WOW... it's gorgeous!!!! I absolutely LOVE the wheels!!! That is another thing I am considering changing on my vehicle!!!! I just want to find the right ones for it!!! Gunmetal huh? What's difference between Gunmetal and chrome? Would you be able to put a close up pic of those wheels on here???

Chrome is silver with a lot of shine to it, gunmetal is the 'grey' color.

Here are a couple pics when I got them:

I bet originals made for Canada are in double digits by now. Anyone who drove during winter months up here (I have seen a few) have surely sent them to the grave by now. I only see a handful here in Toronto (less than 6).I was lucky. Picked my up last year from a little old lady who stored hers in doors October to April. Speedo is in KM/H, so I know it is a canadian car. Serial number ends in 9PW202803. I have registered on the forum already. Is this enough of the vin to verfiy CDN & US cars were randomly mixed together???

I really wish I would have called on the 92 Vert where I live, It's still posted on Craigslist, but its 1 month old today, I might as well call and check I guess. I was hesitent on calling on it cuz they only came in Auto's and I really don't want an auto, but I guess I could always swap it

I was very lucky to find mine. To be honest with you all Im coming from an RX-7 background but recently sold my TurboII in search of something a little sexier but equally as rare. My original car target was a GC8 impreza and then the 240vert. The vert chose me I knew of 3 for sale back in april. the first one was a black 94 with 186,000 but was sold when i inquired about it. same with the 2nd i called about and a third a red 93 at a dealer had over $5,000.00 worth of damages so i stayed away.

Timing is everything and good things come to those who wait

I'm surprised Nissan sold 240SX verts in Canada. Canadian laws do not allow door-mounted seatbelts once the car has a certain amount of power. The B13 Sentra SE-R was never sold in Canada for that reason. I wonder if Canadian versions of the 240 vert had their engines castrated a bit

I'm looked into exporting 240SX verts to Canada, but for some reason the the 1992 US 240SX vert is not allowed to be imported into Canada. See here:http://www.riv.ca/english/US_v...y.pdf

Canada is considering moving its 15-year exclusion rule to 25 years... if it happens, 240SX verts are going to be hard to come by.http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety...e.htm

I hope they don't change the rule - I want a cabin in Quebec with a 1992 Skyline GT-R in the garage.

When I found my vert is was at a dealership and he wanted $8000.00 for it (1994) and it needed a paint job and a new roof!!!

I talked him down to $5000.00 over the phone (didn't want to drive out and see it for $8000.00) by asking a ton of questions and simply saying "No...I think you need to come down in price."

At $5000.00 I drove to see it but brought my dad in (yes I am 39...doesn't matter...dad is WHERE IT IS AT!) He and I talked it down to $3950.00 because I brought in all kinds of "evidence" of them selling in GREAT shape in the states for $4000.00

Maybe I was just incredibly lucky??? But I got it for $3950. and then put money into it and she's GORGEOUS now!!!!

In the end I spent about $10,000.00 total...which I think I could probably get back for it (or close to it) now that it is all fixed up! But I have NO intention of selling it! Can't wait for the boot to arrive (it was shipped today!!!!) So I can get the pics and show it off some more!!!! Laughing!!!
