I'm bored, just got back from the Forza forums. WOW! I really thought Turn 10 was a customer oriented game company. Basically when Forza 3 was released they had two versions, the regular and the Limited Collector's edition. The LCE came with a DLC to enable you to have VIP status which gives such perks as cars with special designs, time trials and special treatment in the storefront and at the auction house. A thread was locked because they were discussing how they felt. I am posting here since they have no control over here. WOW that mod was a douche. After reading this thread I have made up my mind that I won't be buying NO DLC for Forza 3. The VIP as DLC is not my issue. I am not pleased that they offered it as a DLC but I am just mad at how Turn 10 decided to react to an unhappy customer. I am actually going to be throwing away the Forza 3 shwag I got from E3. Anybody local want it. I have a Forza 3 banner, Forza 3 logo and the Audi from the store display. I am so upset that I might just get my 1000 points and sell the game, I already have over 700 and GT5 is around the corner.

Getting crappy DLCs every month is really no fun. The Jalopink car pack is a joke so was January's. All of the current DLCs should have been in the game at launch!

All I can do is laugh.

People on NICO have been so pro-Forza that I am glad there perfect racing simulator isn't treating them like they should. I never liked how they released 4 DLCs for Forza 2. It's like why are you releasing old cars that should of been in the game from the get go. Sure come DLC for new cars that just arrived on the market but the way they executed it was BS.

I hope things like this and DRM issues will cause gamers to make an active stance against developers crap. Don't buy their products and show them how you feel.

Honestly, I think offering the VIP status to everyone was the right thing to do. Like I've said many times, "special editions" of games that include more, better, or any form of different content from the regular versions are unacceptable. Especially with multiplayer games, where everyone deserves to be on a level playing field.

At the end of the day, the real issue is NOT that the LCE buyers were wronged, but that everyone ELSE was wronged when Turn10 decided to release unbalanced content to those LCE buyers. Now, Turn10 has levelled the playing field and made the same content available to everyone...the way it should have been from the start. While I don't know that the move is praiseworthy because, again, it does not justify the initial mistake, it certainly isn't something to complain about.

The ideal solution would be to simply eliminate VIP altogether. But that would not be right, as people did pay for it. So, instead, they've made it available to everyone, which levels the playing field without taking anything away from anyone. LCE VIP holders still keep their VIP, so I don't know what the hell all the b****ing is about.

I mean, what's next? Boycotting games that see price drops on store shelves after 6 months? Pricing details change, welcome to the world of selling stuff. If you choose to pay money for something, there's no rule that says no one else can get a better deal than you did.

The VIP did not offer multiplayer advantages online, as it pertains to the driving experience it's mostly in the Auction and storefront.

I really dislike Turn 10's Forums, maybe I should stop trolling over there. It's the way they handle though comments and questions, instead of answering them or facing them, they just choose to completely ignore them by locking them or banning people. Regarding the VIP DLC, it wasn't a problem when it was in the LCE since the features really did not take away from the regular game. Since Turn 10 made the VIP downloadable they have started excluding regular game owners from special events more often. Therefore discriminating against gamers who don't buy the VIP DLC.

I like Forza 3, I just dislike the company.
