So I was very lucky and got invited to the Forza 3 event last night in Los Angeles. The major thing that I found out about the game is a "rewind feature" this will undo the last thing you did, ex. hitting a wall, spinning out...etc. I found this feature gimicky, but then again I don't have to use it. This is great for beginers who want to jump in a racing game. The graphics for Forza 3 were beautiful. They had three tracks that were set in a mountain setting. The first track was a medium speed track with intricate turns. The second track that was a tighter track with hairpin curves, perfect for letting the rear slide out. The last track I didn't get to spend much time on. They had roughly 10 cars on the demo.
-Lamborghini Lp640-Audi R8-Tesla Roadster-370Z-Aston Martin-Mercedez ML-Porsche 911-Ferrari California
.......alcohol induced memory loss
The major thing that I found out was that there will not be any night races and no Dynamic Weather, i really hope I am wrong.
The cars handle the way they should be. The new track environments really add to the game. Driving through the canyons, passing through the mountain's shadows, little touches like that make the game for me. They now also have a real clutch on the game. The new steering wheels will have a third pedal. If you use the controller to race, you can also use the LB as your clutch. The interior views are very well detailed. I actually thought they didn't take the time to render the side interior views as I look to the left or right the cockpit vanishes, alas a Turn 10 staff member showed my the error of my ways.
The event was very nice, they had valet parking when you drove up, open bar and the food was great. The DJ's were ripping up the turn tables as the night went on. They also had a bunch of real cars on display, they consisted of:
-Lamborghini LP640-flat black -R34 Skyline-NSX-Ferrari California-Mercedez CLK-EvoX-Audi R8 V10-which i got in -Porsche 911-Audi S4-BMW 1 series
My buddy pointed out that I was driving a LP640 in the game while the real car was right in front of me. It was really cool to be around people who love and help create the game that we all play. Forza 3 looks to be a killer ap this fall inspite of the lack of night and weather driving.
I would like to thank Turn 10 and Microsoft for such a cool event. A special thanks to Landin for getting me the invite. The kicker of the night was I got to get a Forza 3 banner and a MS Steering wheel
my Forza 3 shwag
I talked big when I was waiting for my turn, when I was finally behind the wheel. I didn't do to good ...I went all gungho turning all the assists of, I ended up understeering. (I braked early)
3 screens + 3 Xbox + Fancy steering wheel + Physics chair = FUN!!!
This is what I saw through my eyes...
...I ran out of memory for more pics, I just got a new phone.
