Hello,

My wife's 2018 QX80 collision light doing strange things. When she starts it, its off but comes on after a minute of driving. She can restart the vehicle and it does the same thing. I've got a couple of questions:

- Since it's intermittent, I'm assuming this is not a fuse issue?
- Which sensor(s) are affected by this light. The large sensor in the grille or the ones along the bumper?
- I would have assumed that if the sensor was detecting "something", wouldn't it use the brakes?
- There's really not a lot of information out there on how this system works. I've only been able to find a bunch of Sales videos and such. Is there a tech bulletin or manual that would help me figure this out?

I am avoiding the dealership since we are past warranty.

Thanks in advance!!!

The FCW/FEB system uses the front radar and lane camera exclusively. A flashing lamp indicates a blocked lane cam, any solid lamp indicates something isn't working right and there are codes in the system. Since it's switching on after you drive a little ways, my first suspicion would be an off-center radar signal. I hate to say it, but you're probably stuck with a dealer visit to find out what's wrong. Very few scanners will read the ADAS systems, and they're all very pricey.
