So, in May of last year we expanded this forum to include additional sub-forums. It's been over a year and I'd like to get some feedback from the members here as to how things are going and any changes that would make the NICOclub G-Series forums better.

No guarantee that there will be changes but I sure would like to know what the members think in order to have back-end discussions with the staff.

Thanks

I do remember the changes and they were very different at first...

The G35 guys didn't want to be part of the g37 and vise versa. But I want to thank the Mods on NICO for making the switch... We have all learned so much and had some great laughs!

A+++++++ Guys

Sure, after you do an article

So.....The forums is fine like it is? Nobody thinks there should be additional forums or anything?

Everything seems great, from the recent 'noob's' prespective.

Would love to see more G parts sold on NICO though. If there was enough interest maybe a sticky post in Gen like Versa and 240 Vert has done.

If any G mod wants to discuss this off of here email me or move the post.

Maybe you should make like a social networking section of the site and maybe call it NicoSpace or NicoBook.

If you guys go through with it, then I want some Nico stickers, a Nico T-shirt (preferably in my size... There is more of me to love ), and most importantly a really really really really really really cool sig.

The only thing that I've pointed out before was the need for a 'tickler' on the General forum that showed if there were any unreplied to posts in the four tech forums. I know there are times I've popped into General and that was it.Otherwise, I've enjoyed having our own General section and how the G forums are structured!!Good Job!!!

OH, BTW, what happed to the cheers guys that are bumping mugs????I click it but it shows smiley downing a beer??

I don't see a "ticker" being in the gen forum. You can see if there are new threads or threads with new posts from the main forum by the yellow arrow in the left column.

There is a problem with some images missing and it's been reported. No idea when it will be fixed as it's in a location that I don't have rights to change or update new smileys.....

Understand. I understand the purpose of the yellow arrows as well. Was just bringing it up again.

I see it as a great benefit to somebody wanting to get their post answered much more quickly, but that's just me (programmer now for 25+ years. )

And, I also know that you can post a pointer in General to your tech post, but the noob's might not know all of the tricks.

BTW, there are 4 posts in the brakes forum that have no replies on the first page......

All of that requires changes/settings within ZF software and we don't have access to the actual forum server.

Being fairly new here, all I know is the forums as they are now. I love it here, everybody is great.

I have difficulty, since I am so low-tech, posting pics. On my f-body site, if I want to post a pic all I have to do is click on an "additional" icon and search my computer for a pic and add it. The pic is small on the thread unless you click on it then it gets large.

By all means, I'm not asking you to change anything just for my analog self, you were just asking for opinions and I gave mine.

I thank everybody for all the work they do on this site and appriciate all the good information I have received.

We used to have something similar but after years of being online it was causing the server to slow down when people would do searches, thus it was disabled.

Here's how you can add pix:zer...tures

How about being able to send private messages? Also, I would like to see the marketplace forum being more organized (interior, exterior, engine, suspension, wheels, etc...). I've had my parts for sale for months and right now there is nothing but parts for 240s... Also, how about being able to add tags on threads so it'll be easier to search for specific things. And maybe subforums for different regions?

Other than that, this forum is great.

We've thought about this too...but it was decided that having private messages would take questions/discussions off the main forum boards.

Just stopping by to say good job on this forum. Besides the things I already said, I always come back to this forum because of the different maturity level and just the fact of how helpful this forum is compared to other g35 forums out there. Although I still think thing being able to send PMs would help out a lot, you guys are doing an awesome job on actually keeping up with the forum and enforcing the rules and looking out for the public's interest.

KISS: Keep it simple stupid.

I agree that the fewer the forums, the better so that all topics get plenty of visibility.

my suggestions:- an icon indicating if you made a post to that thread- adding a thread strictly for pics of your car

Yes, you will need to resize your pictures before uploading to whatever host you are using for pictures. I try and stay away from anything larger than 900w.

I'll get flamed or emailed for this, but I'm saying it anyways...

G/Z classifieds would be HUGE - I can't sell or buy anything in our classifieds because the S-chassis and Q45 parts dominate.

DIY Repair sub-forum - I know we have the FAQ with links, but an actual sub-forum would be much better as everything would be localized.

Real PMs would be nice too as haggling over prices or sending personal information would be nicer than having to open the user's profile, copy & pasting their email address (which always easy), then opening up a webmail session (Yahoo Mail, Gmail, hotmail...etc.) and composing a message.

I agree with this. I have to go to that other site to buy and sell parts. All the things that I have sold have not sold here even though I posted them up here.

Aside from that, I love NICO. I like the way people handle themselves on here and are ultimately supportive of each other.

I like the different sub-forums although some people still have a tough time venturing out of the General Discussion area.
