I plan on getting my car tuned professionally this spring/summer. I have talked the local tuner shop into doing a group buy for the Uprev type tune. But I was in a mid-atlantic region of another forum. How do can I properly direct other Nico peeps to the deal on another forum, to a tunershop that might not be a nico vendor, with out stepping on anyones feelings? I am in no way affiliated with the tunershop except to get in on the group buy my self.

IMHO you can't there is no way to properly direct people to go to another forum. Unless it was for Tech info.

Talk to one of the altima mods and get them to ask the admins.

The Uprev tune is for most models of Nissan and Infinity. I was going to post it in general chat, as this is a nissan/infinity club. Ah well, that sucks for any Nico people try'n to get a good deal on a Uprev tune in the DC MD VA area. Sorry guys. One Moderator told me to ask another moderator. <shrug> If thats anything like when I was a kid and mom says "Ask your father" It dies here lol.

I will talk to the tuner shop and see if they would be a nico sponcer and do something for you guys. I did search the name of the shop on here, and many others have mentioned them over the years. But I wont post it. The Tuner shop guys are pretty active in the local circles and I think they would want to be apart of Nico too.

Yeah it is unlikely the bossman would let that fly here without the vendor coming here to try to become a sponsor. Linking to a competing forum is also against the NICO terms of service.

Thanks for checking up before just posting it up - also good of you to check with the tuner shop to see about it. If he's interested, let me know, and I'll PM you the proper contact information.

Any type of group-buy needs to have an approved vendor. To become an approved vendor you can email Greg - [email protected]

Seeing as though this is a location specific vendor for an Uprev tune, it might be a little tricky for them to become a vendor. See what Greg says.

The reply:

"Thanks for making an effort to spread our Uprev special. We will look into possibly becoming a vendor on Nicoclub.

I know the guys from UpRev. There's no need for ANY vendor to require a certain # of people to sign on for a deal in order to offer a good price.

Here's the deal, and you can tell them I said so: We're the biggest Nissan forum on the web. We get a metric s***-ton of traffic. They can hook you up with a good deal and get the good press when you post about it, or they can treat you like a nobody and we'll all hear about it.

Group Buy deals are for chump companies that don't have the balls to take risks, look out for influential customers, and do business the right way.

Good luck with it!

^^ +1 on what Greg said. Be weary of company that gets forum members do their leg work for them. If they truely know their $hit, the company will have already done their marketing and R&D before approaching a forum like NICO...

Thanks for the look out, but unless you guys know of a Better Tuner Shop in central Va, with a better deal going, it helps me little. Sure I can contact Uprev and say I have Nico Blood and they will give me some sort of deal. But I cannot tune or dyno my own car :( hence the dealeo. I am not "doing leg work for them" as I have still not named them lol. I have had my eye on "them" for a while and have been waiting for my opportunity to strike, when they happen to become vendors at a regional forum I troll. They threw up a thread on a special custom tune price and on the side I asked if we can get a better deal if we did a group buy. And so it began. We already had more then enough people to get the deal, and only wanted to let my Nico Brothers have a crack at it if they are in the NoVa area as good shops are hard to find out here. Other members on Nico have already had dealings with them and I have heard only good things. I have heard from other locals that have had services done there with nothing but positive things to say. And I will post what experences with names when I have mine done, good or bad :chuckle:
