Hey guys, Its been years since I have been here. So long in fact I cant remember what my old username was. Back in 2002 I got tired of my first car (90 integra) and decided to get a 240sx. I found a really nice 1993 SE Coupe with leather interior and a bunch of miles for $3000. It was a wonderful little car but when the odo passed 200,000m ghosts started showing up. By that time I had gotten married and needed more room so In 2005 I bought a honda element and kept the 240 around as my play car. A bit later we found out that we were going to have a kid, so I got a job delivering pizzas to build up our savings. The month & a half of delivering pizzas finally did the 240 in. She would run for a bit then cut off, eventually not running at all. I replaced the MAF the fuel pump, and various other parts in vain. With a kid on the way and lots of bills, reluctantly, I sold her to some kid for $2000. About a year later I started to regret it and it has come to the point that I have decided to buy another. I have a buddy who I may buy his '89 from. I would really like a another 1993 though. Now that I have the money, I will actually be able continue my plans for my dream 240 Here is what I want to accomplish:
Engine:
- RB25DET swap with the eventual goal of 275hp
- nice & quiet exhaust system
Body:
- either silvia or R32 front end conversion
- Simple side skirts and low profile spoiler
- Bayside Blue paint job (Skyline blue) or at least close to it
- Nice 17" conservative looking staggered racing wheels
Interior:
- Comfy racing seats (Black Leather w/ blue stitching), not big and flashy, ones that look more stock like but with 5pt harness
- Cover the dash in leather or faux leather (Black w/blue stitching)
- Matching leather covered steering wheel/ shifter (and anything else that would look good in leather)
- Anything not covered in leather will probably be painted to match exterior
- Blue & white LED lighting
- Move my stereo from my Element into the 240 (eXcelon HU, Diamond speakers/Subs, Oldshool Fosgate amps)
You could sum up my goal as an extremely clean looking car that is not too flashy but has it where it counts and is incredibly comfortable to drive. A car that doesn't scream "RICER" or "D-bag" that even hard core domestic guys can respect.
When I do finally start this project, I will definitely create a progress thread on here, and possibly a separate blog. I will prize any input I can get from you guys especially those who have done the RB25DET swap and lived to tell about it. I look forward to hearing any suggestions or comments from you all.
thanks and have a great day!
