I think he's always been a man with a good and caring heart. Just terribly naive and misinformed and manipulated due to those he surrounded himself with. If he stays away from the political side I think he may be remembered for a lot of charitable work he's probably going to do.

i think history will show just that. i never hated him because ultimately he was a GOOD man. i just hated the policies of his government.

Oddly enough, I think what you just said could very easily be said in the context of a conversation about Obama as well. I think he too has surrounded himself with a manipulative bunch. Just as you say, I dont like Obama's policies, but I think he truely thinks they are good for America and means the best, and he really seems to be a good husband and father, which is really most important. So my disdain for him is purely political.

Now as far as 'ol W. I think he is aiming for just that, and is why for the most part, now that he's served his term, he's pretty much apolitical now.
