Ok, no flaming please :)

I'm sure we have a few former Integra owners here, and I've just been loaned one to use as my winter beater (insert Monster Garage "freebie" sound efx) :D.

What I'm looking for is some good online refernce for Integra's, even if it's the NICO "similar" (note I did NOT say equivalent).

It's a 94 GS with 120K. The front brakes make a ticking sound as the car comes to a stop, the timing belt has never been changed (is it an interference motor?) and the "Maint Reqd" light is on. Any help, or just a point in the right web-direction would be GREATLY appreciated.

yeah it is an interference motor. Recommended time charge interval for the timing belt is 60k miles. It's not a hard job, you can do it yourself. Put new brake pads on it and change the oil.

 Yikes, interference motor, 120K, never changed. Fisrt thing on my list of things to do. Trade off is I can drive, as long as I "tidy up" some maintenance issues.

Note to self: Go straight to the parts store for a belt.

I would do it, ASAP..

You have a B18B under the hood. It is 140HP depend on who you ask people might tell you 145 but Honda rated it at 140HP.I had A 91 which has a B18A Same motor but 130HP and the timming belt broke on me at 101K so you are very luckey so far. I would not even drive it anymore. Unless you really have to.

Maint Reqd light you can turn it off by enither disconet the battary for about 1min.

The brake part I got to hunt it down. But go to SuperHonda.Com they car Help is just like NICO

You're overreacting to the hatred of rice. A relative of mine happens to own a 98 integra, and it's a damn fine automobile when in the right hands. However, as we all know, if it's in the wrong hands many bad things can and will happen, like this,

and we don't want that.

It's a well-built car (at least until 99 when they started building them in US) and it's a nice-looking one. Well, it was until it had become defamated by a$$ who like shiny tails.

Well I guess what I'm trying to say is, I hate ricers.

Okay after further review, it's an LS not a GS. I know BIG difference. I'll go cruising the forum john recommended, but would like some insight to the interfernce/non-interference issue on this motor.

Obviously, she didn't know what she was talking about, and I didn't care, it's a (nearly) free winter beater.

if you do the timing belt yourself it will cost around 40 bux. Opposed to the 400 anywhere else is gonna charge you.

She told me it was a GS, and after some "investigating" it's an LS. So, my question now is does it (the LS) have an interference motor?

She stayed up on oil changes and tires, but that was it, nothjing else has been done to the car, she said "maybe" the brakes were done once. I'm off to the parts store for brake pads at least.

Thanks everyone for the help so far.
