Realized I never really intorduced myself but have been posting here for a bit now.

I am Ryan, I am a cancer, I like biking and hiking, and I've never been laid.

No really though. My name is Ryan, I've had my eye on a 03-04 M for about 2-3 years and finally hit the point were my daughter wouldn't mind being crammed into the back of a sporty sedan. Just in time for me and my wife to get pregnant again and have to sell it.

Purchased a 03 M45 with 54k in very good condition about 3 weeks ago. A few scratches here and there but nothing big. Had to have the Fuel Gauage issue fixed and a faulty airbag sensor but now all is good.

I was a MECP First Class installer for a long time until I got out of the business so if anyone has any Aftermarket questions for me please feel free to ask. This site is great, people all seem cool, and I look forward to contributing as much as possible. I am a big DIY guy so as I do things that people want to know about I will try to take pics and post how to's.

I will post pics of the ride as soon as the weather here in MI allows me to get her out on the rode and get some taken.

Thanks again for all the info and look forward to being part of the community.......................... Ryan

A belated "welcome to NICO", Ryan!

Pardon my ignorance: What is an MECP First Class installer? What field of work?

MECP means Mobile Electronics Certified Professional. It is the standard for Mobile electronics and aftermarket entertainment. First Class use to be the highest level, they have since revamped all the classes and Master Installer is now the highest.

I spent about 6 years doing every sort of install from the basic radio, to 20 speaker custom fiberglass enclosures with motorized amp racks. Alot of Security and Remote Start experience also.

I cant wait to rip open my center console and see what I can do with our system. My CD changer is in the process of taking a poop so I will be doing this sooner than later.

Has anyone had problems with their CD changer just becoming real staticy? One second its fine, then the next time i start the car it sounds like crap. If I pull the cassette out and put it back in it seems to alliviate the issue but this leads me to believe it is about to crap out. Let me know if there is a quick fix. Thanks...................... Ryan

I've had the static sound when I would start the car. Changing the disc seemed to stop it................Havent noticed anything for several months though.

I cleaned my disc player with a cleaning disc and it stops teh problem. Certain burned discs will do this more then others.

Yea I think I'm gonna pull it this weekend and open it up and blow it out. Probably just some dirt on the eye and needs a good cleaning. Glad to know I'm not the only one.................... Ryan
