The setup works excellent. Flawless operation.
Wasted spark distributorless has many advantages over the oem distributor type. Its charging two coils to do the work instead of one for all 4 cylinders, it is extremely accurate when used with a direct crank trigger. Distributors or cas systems that are gear driven shaft off the crank, or are cam gear driven drag power and are not as accurate (although they work just fine for most applications). The ford edis (mines from escort) is as good as any aftermarket wasted spark coil pack system.
I put this on my engine because i needed ignition that i could tune in real time with rpm/map signal, via standalone.
People can bash because its from motorcraft, who cares? Its better.
