you people have never seen that?? LOL That is the FR500 prototype car. It has a DOHC 32 valve 5 liter (4.6 with spray bore instead of sleeves) That car has over 415 N/A horsepower to the rear wheels and handles like nobody's business. It has SLA front suspension along with independent rear suspension and aluminium suspension components. It also has a perfect 50/50 weight distribution. It was basically the test platform for the next generation of Mustang which will be out later this year (september 29 to be exact) I'm not crazy about the hood with the way it comes down over where the grill should be. It's one bad a$$ car though as far as performance goes......and all of the parts are available through FRP!!

There's the new Mustang. Like I said, the FR500 was just a test platform for alot of the new "hardware". The FR500 actually looks nice from other angles, I just hate the hood. LOVE the '05 Stang though!! I plan on buying one

There probably won't be a Cobra until late '05....there may even be a Boss version....possibly a Shelby as well.....who knows?? It's a sweet car, with 300HP in the standard GT, it should be very respectable....and it even has variable valve timing. The new 4.6 and the new 5.4 have identical bores, just different stroke.....the heads are the EXACT SAME....even the cams are the same. Would be soooooo easy to make the new Stang a 5.4!! (and cheap too)

Also on a side note, there are rumers of no more SVT (anything) from Ford. they might all be packaged as Shelby's instead

Also the next Cobra might get the new 5.0 engine ford has. should be making around 380-400hp NA. also the 5.7 351 v10 they put in that boss project car might be another engine choice for a mustang. rumer has it they made sure it would drop into the 05 engine bay.

Ford got the retro look down pat for the mustang. Thank god they didn't go half a$$ like the thunderbird.

what's wrong toad?? It still has 3 valves per cylinder. It's more effiecient, makes more power, and cheaper to make/modify than a 4 valve with 2 cams per head. It sure keeps the price of aftermarket cams down, try buying 4 cams for a 96-03 Cobra!! Yikes.

Man the new mustang is boss I would get one. Save the fact that the block is Iron.

Oh well it keeps heat better than an aluminum block.

I am still not use to seeing a Mustang with the non functional hood scoop. I love people that have hood scoop envy.

I think SVT is supposed to be on break until '06 actually.

I hope somebody makes a vented cover (ala '67 fastback look) for those quarter windows, they just look a little weird on the stang to me...

and where are the flamers at? figured they'd be crawling in this...
