Ford Five Hundred

Anybody driven the new Ford Five Hundred? I drove one yesterday and liked it so much. They remind me of the old Q45s. I actually like it better than the new Q45s.

I drove one for a day before deciding on my G35X. Nice car, very large but defenitely underpowered compared to the G. That's not to say it's not for many people, it just depends what you are looking for. I also question Ford long term quality having owned two Fords for my previous two vehicles.

Can't say that I've driven one. The seem to be a little bit nicer of a car for Ford, but I am still a littls hesitant about their long term quality as well. Plus, for the money, I think you can find a better car.

I like the fact that Ford has made a better Taurus replacement. Now when I rent A car on a trip, I have a better car. I would never buy one. I cant trust the long term durability of the CVT transmision. There's allways been isues with them.

I heard that Ford is moving out of the rental car business and is making sure the 500 doesn't make it to the rental market. BTW, the 500 is supposed to be engineered after the Volvos.

Instead of turning Volvos into Ford, maybe they're turning Fords into Volvos. :?

Well, i'ts all a shared platform. I realy don't know who deveoped it. The Ford 500 platform is used for the Mazda 6, the Volvo S60, I think, and the Ford Freestyle SUV. It's known by the press that the Mazda 6 is a good car in it's segment. I never drove the S60, but I've driven the S80 and I thought it was overpriced crap. I dont think the Volvos are what they use to be. Maybe the Volvos have made the Fords a bit better, but I'm sure that Ford is bringing down Volvo also.

The S60R is suppose to be a nice car.
