yeah, that's right. i am "sporting" up the exploder. why? idk, because it's silly. i'm not sure where i'm going next, but if it's free or cheap, i'm open to consideration.

it began shortly after purchase upgrading wheels and tires from my dead 01 sport, and new suspension that provided a very mild lift

then i found this in the parts room, and after a few beers, we have this
Image

i had cut off the exhaust and clamped on a glasspack with a dump in lieu of the factory muffler, but that didn't last long and i just welded the dump to the factory piping. it sounds...eh, but it serves to drown out the ford factory option power steering whine (sorry, no sound clip). it's a pushrod 4.0l v6, can't really expect much.

the fuel gauge perpetually reads super full. either i have the most fuel efficient vehicle ever produced, or something is wrong. in an effort to rule out the gauge, i remembered that i kept the cluster off the 01 sport, and decided to swap them out since they are identical.

it obviously didn't fix my issue, but at least i got sporty white faced gauges and orange needles. oh, and the parts cluster is going back on the garage wall in much cooler fashion

Image

i think next will be some fender flares to cover up the rust forming on the wheel wells.

Ford fuel sender reading perma full is grounded out. You have a short in the return signal wire.

Those gauges are a big improvement.

Are you going to put racing stripes on the exterior?

got into an argument with the woman, after which i went to the garage to stew. after some quality fuming and a couple beers, i ended up doing this

Image

it looks funky because the only black paint i had on hand was either plasti-dip, or gloss black with a hammered finish. i went with the hammered because i liked the idea of a different texture. it was originally black, but i just swapped over the entire bezel, controls, and radio from the 01. i was tiring of the entirely gray dash and needed some contrast.

had a b-day come and go. my buddy informed me he got me something. i'm not huge on people making a fuss over me on those occasions, to which he ordered me to suck it. quite possibly the most excited i've been over a gift in a long time

i need to stop before this thing gets too ridiculous.
