Time is on your side. Make the mounts. Helped a friend install a RS2000 Ford engine with 45 Webber side draughts, 276 crane cams, lifters, 1 1/2" headers, custom 2 1/2" exhaust piping, 60 thou oversized forged piston shaved ported and flow tested head in a B210. Did a 1/4 mile in 11.65.

Making the mounts is something i dont feel comfortable doing. I can do just about anything to a car, ive rebuilt auto. transmissions and engines but welding and fabricating i know nothing about . Does anyone know who sells the mounts for a chevy swap ? Maybe i can contact them and lead me to someone who makes these mounts, thats if they ever were made !

Why don't you use stock 5.0 mounts and weld the bottoms to the frame, or weld L shape brackets for the mounts to bolt into. I have seen them do it on Monster Garage lots of times.

"I'll just go the local junkyard and pick one of these up", Haha, yeah right, where would I even get that motor? If I was gonna spend that kind of loot on a 4cyl, I would rather go with the 300hp naturally aspirated Rebello ka24e. I'm not all caught up in one-upmanship here, I'm just saying.

I think a hot 289 in a 2wd HB would be nice, (it's almost like a 720).

Its the build. Being able to say I did it is what counts. The club I was in had the engine already and sourcing the parts was not hard, but the build was a lot of fun.
