I've been playing with my tune lately, specifically with the EGR settings. I'm wondering what you forced induction guys have done with the EGR? Have you just eliminated it? I've researched the VH45's EGR system before but have forgotten the specifics so I'm going to dive into the books again. Seems to me that the EGR system would cause issues while under boost for a couple of reasons. First it seems to me that the hot exhaust gases would heat up my intake air temps which I do not want. Second it seems like it effects boost. I'm not exactly sure what the EGR settings are doing that I have access to in my ECU but the area I've been altering is above 2800 RPM and it does seem to change things. I believe I have successfully prevented the EGR from switching on above 2800 RPMs and it does run smoother under accelleration w/boost.

Anyway, what have all of you guys done with the EGR?

wouldnt leaving it under stockish settings be fine? From what i understand, the EGR only comes on during low load cruising... so under 3 grand, under low throttle...?

^ what he said...the service manual gives a nice explaination of how the EGR is actuated.
