$159.00 for the entire rear carpeting.. Didn't get a quote on the front carpeting, but this isn't expensive at all... nice way to restore your interior if you are hardcore about your Q..

It's OEM from the dealer, so exact fit is assured.

I dunno, but your previous suggestion quoted me that price. I was shocked at how cheap it was. I can't imagine the front being that much, if the rear is that cheap.

That would really go a long way to restoring your car to near new condiiton, in terms of interior.

Nice to know they still sell this kind of stuff for our ancient rides :)

Damn I need someone who charges cheap labor..

I guess to reinstall the carpet, the seats wil have to be removed. At this point I should install the dynamat to all doors, and the floorboards.

Keep in mind the dynomat is heavy.

I have a mechanic I trust to work on my Q, lives in Surprise and does top-notch work, cheaply.

hitman,

how much wieght adding do you think is in this bulk pack?

http://www.sonicelectronix.com...=1726

The 10455 bulk kit includes 9 sheets of Dynamat Xtreme, for a total of about 36 square feet (a car door requires about 5 square feet). Designed especially for high-temperature areas and high sound pressure level situations, Dynamat Xtreme offers four times the damping power of Original Dynamat, thanks to its energy-reflective aluminum layer.

I was thinking it weighed more too...

Of course, you'll need almost 3 boxes just to do the floor of the Q, and another 2 boxes if you do the trunk and doors...

assuming 5 square feet with 4 doors.. that would be 20.. leaving 16 feet...

not sure how much it would take to do the floorboards...

I have no spare / jack either.

Removed them to "justify" the 18" wheels... I know, I know... but hey, it made ME feel better. :)

Green slime is worthless - Better to drop the $ on AAA or some other roadside assist.

The ad you quoted says 2 boxes to do the entire floor of a "normal" size car.

Yea but it has a compressor... so you can bandaid the wound and inflate the tire.. I agreee its worthless on its own, because generally the tire is too flat..

I've used ti successfully a few times.. it's saved my a$$, but other times it's been friggin worthless.. I thought having the compressor might give it an edge... Roadside is nice but takes forever

"But if weights not an issue, then definately line your car in dynamat. I suggest if you plan on laying your entire car with dynamat, buy two bulk packs."

Customer review...

Not sure how accurate it is, as the customer owns a Civic. :beatfreak

Maybe this would be better for the floorboards

Oh yea, that.. They also have one for the hood, supposedly reduces underhood heat.. although the Q already has insulation there, so not sure what good it would do, or where to install it

I used two bulk packs plus six loose sheets of Xtreme in my 98 F150 regular short cab.

That's a lot of Dynamat in a small space.

By the time you did the Q roof, quarters, floor, two layers on the doors (inside under the door panel, and inside of the outer door skin) you'd have many, many bulk packs in the car.

That stuff is addictive, I'm telling you now. Everywhere you place it makes the untreated areas louder. Next thing you know the interior looks like a big inside-out baked potato.

It's an OCD person's dream, for everyone else, a nightmare.

You're gonna need to run 8 lbs of boost just to haul around the Dynomat. :D

Hey guys here are some tips I’ve gotten from SQ experts on sound deadning. They recommend at least 100.00 sq ft ,the more the better. Degreasing and de-waxing the metal, the most important step in sound deadening – though a lot of times neglected

The most noticeable location is to cover the wheel wells. This is where a lot of the road noise comes in from and the difference at highway speeds is dramatic! Cars with big sub systems are going to rattle ...even with multiple layers of mat in the "usual" spots....so concentrate on the areas that are in need WITHOUT the steteo vibrations first....then chase rattles afterwards.

Use if you can afford Dynamat's Dynaplate. Expensive as hell, but it only weighs 0.17 lbs/sq ft.You can call Dynamat and speak to Kevin Mutters. He’ll be very informative. RAAMmat ( good stuff and reasonably priced) weighs in at 0.4 and Dynamat Xtreme is 0.45. I believe the second-lightest damping sheet on the market is Cascade Audio VMAX, (awesome stuff) which weighs 0.23 lbs/sq ft.

Hope it helps.

D.

Good info!

I had good luck shooting the inside of my prior car's wheelwells with some heavily rubberized undercoating... Quieted down those fat, sticky tires. :)

Thanks for the info, very appreciated.

I was checking out the dynaplate, not too expensive..

I guess the deal is with dynamat, is it gets expensive..

As heavy stated the OCD sets in and before you know you have 5 bulk packs dynaplate and everything else :)

I'm confused on what I should use and where I should use it. Apparently the products also go on top of each other, like applying dynamat extreme then a layer of dynaplate..

Definetely want to take this to someone who has experience dealing with this.

I'm going to find some just for the doors, hopefully somebody around here will sell eaches. Then I can have fun putting it on through the holes. ( Hey man, what happened to your arms??!!)

Too true, you'll look like a cat attacked you before it's overwith. I have a lanky kid that comes in the shop whose arms are long & skinny as a flagpole. He's helped me out several times.

The degreasing is sooo important. 2nd that.

But even after it's placed in the area, getting every square inch stuck to the surface is where the time really racks up.

Once it's stuck........it's on for good.

I'll post a pic of my truck with all interior removed when I can find it.
