ha, that thing is the price of an avc-r.................not to mention that the color screen isnt all that big. the rpm adjustment part is good but is it worth the extra 160 bux?

neo controls our VTEC

it will work on the ka-t just like a regular safc2 would. just wire it accordingly.

It's too flashy and expensive for what it is. And also, did I mention it's too flashy?

I would rather have some combination of the SAFC and the AVC, but I did just get an emanage, so we will see. I am using the (KA-t annointed) bastard child, but APEXi makes a good product. For my girls prelude, it makes good sense. But I am still worried like Smashed said, it isn't on the APEXi website, could it be a phony?

i hope that was a joke GEO or you just looked really dumb

i dont get it tho. didnt the vafc already control air/fuel jsut with the addition of controling where vtec kicks in? guess they are combining them jsut so they dont have to make two separate units.

I'd use the VTEC control as a trigger for intercooler sprayers, etc.

So you can adjust in increments as close as 50rpm, but you only get 16 points of adjustment? That's a whole lot less than the 140 pts of adjustment that I interpreted from the auction.

It doesn't seem that great anymore.

whats the point of combining an safc with a vafc when all a vafc is is an safc with vtec control?

maybe its a better vafc unit than the predecessor? i could see where a vafc would be much more handy in this day and age for cars 2000 and newer as everyone pretty much has their own take on the vtec thing.

also alan, do you have anymore info on how you could control an intercooler sprayer via the vafc?

it sends out a signal triggered by rpm. you'd wire the sprayer's solenoid, or a relay that controls it, to the vtec output wire.

but as far as price, emanage blue/gold still gives you more for your money.

jook, while that is true, not any of the others ACTUALLY work like vtec, they all work like VVTI-i which according to Apexi on the last VAFC was NOT compatible. So that would be the best thing they could do with it is make the other systems compatible. And yes, it would work great as an intercooler sprayer or water/methanol injection.
