For those who wants to have better handling of the EX

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Something was missing from the factory for the EX35…

So I installed one today!

With the help of my friend at “some shop” we got this fitted on my EX35.Hollow aluminum bar with triple chamber designed for rigidity and light in weight.

I did not do any hard cornering yet but I am sure this will help because of the long nose FM platform and the height of the car.

Is it a Home-made Brace? It looks well built.

So when the Engine flexes, will the "Brace" rub up against it ?

It looks like it's pretty close.

Do you also have the Frame Stiffner, too ?

No, this is not homemade. This is CNC machined and professional welded part that I hope is going into production for you guys.Due to the length of the factory studs on the struts, this is the highest the bar can go. There is about 1/8" gap between the plastic cover and the bar. There is no contact when the car starts, at idle, and shift into gear. I will test it out tomorrow and see if there is any contact when engine flex.

No other frame/ suspension components at this time. I guess they have to see how the bar goes. The market for EX is so small and they only do it because I been asking for it for the longest time.

Yes.The purpose of the strut bar is to provide extra stiffness between two strut. Its all about weight transfer to reduce chasis flex. It's a simple, cheap suspension mod that also look good.

I do not have any experience with the underbody brace, but I did replace the fender brace for my WRX and there is noticeble improvement.

Definitely a challenging environment to design a brace for. Where does it attach, with no towers?

Im Going Out On a Track Day Next Month and I Wold Be HAPPY to test this with and without and post comparable Lap times to demonstrate the real world difference as opposed to just the beautifully aesthetic appearance.

Im going our to firebird next in 4 weeks and then doing an autocross race with in 6 weeks so i would LOVE to prototype this to demonstrate/test the functional handling perks.

Hope I get to.

It's attached to the top of two struts.

Rio,

I have been storming through Ortega Hwy and GMR (both canyon) here in SoCal and just a simple bar upgrade turned out to be amazing. The shop already reached final production process and have few bars ready. Seems like you are interested in testing the product on track. Send me a PM or e-mail so we can discuss about the testing process.

I see this thread died. Is the fate of the enhancement the same? I'm looking for something like a rear sway bar for mine

My offer and services are still available if you would like one hell of an in-depth blurb about it even if it's on a rental or borrow basis

I'm not sure what you mean if you're talking to me.

From what I understand the talk is about a tower brace. Who knows the details?
