For those using ARP main studs!

collecting info and parts for my new build, just wondering is the "oil pan clearencing" that is required with the arp main studs something that needs to be done by an expert or can i simply just shave a few mm myself?

Also if your reading this Karmakaze did you go with arp main studs? are builds are kinda sorta similar.

Contact Mazworx. He takes the stock pan and drills the holes for clearance. Costs like $75 i think.

yea i know mark can do it but i was wondering if it is something simple that i can do. Like i wanna know if this has to be an exact thing or can i just simply shave a few mm my self. KARMAKAZE WHAT DID YOU DO????

i shaved mine off with an angel grinder.

ok thanks. i was wondering do now how much its gonna cost to buy all of the measuring tools i need to do an engine build like for bearing clearences and so forth? cuz i have almost everything ready for my build and i want to put it together , so i needa get the proper tools.

Get a good torque wrench. Since you're using ARP hardware, you won't need any angle wrenches.

Plastigauge is good to have too for the bearings.

You can get a micrometer to measure bearing races for your bearings, or you can just do the old nissan method with the color code chart.

o kool thanks im hoping this engine build vid explains alot of this stuff cuz like redtop91 this is my fist build also. Dont wanna mess anything up.
