Heya all, leading up to my purchase of the Versa, one of the things I kept in mind were the many # of Versa owners that had the rattle in the front dash problem. Luckily, the Versa I had, it had the fix for it already as when I looked at the gap between the front dash and the dashboard, it was stuffed with foam.
So I guess that the newer Versa's rolling out of the factories have this addressed. But I did notice something somewhat noteworthy of individuals that still get the rattle, you should also check your back window! The top plastic seam in the rear where it meets the rear window has no foam or sound deadening material at all! For some, you may hear the rattle a lot if your Versa was built with a certain degree of imperfection, but for me, I hear the rattle in the rear when I am riding on really really rough road or go over cracks.
At first, as a driver, you will never notice it coming from the back, but I had a friend drive my Versa while I sat in the rear, and the vibration/rattle that I thought came from the front side passenger was actually coming from the rear.
Anyways, its late here, but I will stuff some of that backer rod stuff in the rear window, but I highly suggest people to check it out. Its nothing major really, I spoke with my dad, and he said all cars under $30k are typically like that, lol. And he told me he hasn't heard of a car that could absorb all sound when riding in pothole infested roads like we have out here in Winnipeg... I hear it even in my friend's 07 civic, and my dad's 06 highlander, its not just a problem with the Versa.
