Like rjdmmfl1 (doc) said, larger wheels = more ground clearance! However, the larger wheels you go, the more chance you have of rubbing.
Here is an example with 19" wheels/tires:
The stock radius of the 3.5 is 215/55/17s which equals a radius of 334.01 mm.
New Tire Size / Radius in mm / mm difference in height off the ground from stock235/35R19 / 323.34 mm / -10.67 mm difference / -3.2%235/40R19 / 335.28 mm / +1.27 mm difference / +0.3%245/35R19 / 326.89 mm / -7.12 mm difference / -2.1%245/40R19 / 339.09 mm / +5.08 mm difference / +1.5%
You don't want anything + or - 3% over factory specs. So you would not want to go with the 235/35R19. Any others of the above would be fine, but the larger the tire, the longer it will take you to stop the vehicle. Getting larger wheels will throw off your speedometer since it counts rotates and thinks the tires you have are still stock. So, with larger tires, your speedometer will read 60mph but you'll only be doing 58mph (depends on size).
I am currently running 245/40ZR19s with a +30 offset. Although my wheels look aggressive due to them sticking out from the wheel wells a tad bit, when I hit large bumps I got a tad bit of rubbing. Any offset is ok, just watch out for rubbing. With the Eibach drop and my setup I was rubbing a tad bit in the rear. To alleviate this I could either get new wheels that are +45 offset to keep the wheels in the wheel well so they won't rub or smaller profile tires or (what I did since it's cheaper) remove the rear Eibach springs and re-install the OEM springs. Note that it is illegal in the USA to have wheels that stick outside of the wheel well, but most cops don't bust you for it-- just be aware that if you do this you will not pass inspection at a dealership. Just like tint, take your car to a shop you trust and have them pass you. Most shops don't mind.
Eventually, when my 245/40ZR19s wear out I will probably go with a smaller profile tire like what adidas2go is running-- 235/35ZR19s or so.
Just some info so folks don't make the same mistake I did.
