Yeah, I referrenced that article about 5 posts up.

I was asking if he was talking about taking the drivers side projector housing and putting it into the passenger side light assembly. Because that wouldn't work. He just worded his words oddly and it made no sense to me.

He also makes mention that his lights can be set up for RHD or LHD cutoff. That's definitely a Hella style projector housing as they have a sandwich plate in the housing that can be reversed. I want to know how hard it would be to take the factory projector housing and flip the cutoff shield inside to a LHD pattern, because a lot of OE units have the shield built into the housing assemblies and it would require a lot of cutting, testing, and fitting to turn the shield around properly.

Going HID is a great idea. They can take the beating daily driving inflicts, and it really isn't that expensive to do. I've been followed by a fellow student that has a s13 with projectors as well... and it's blinding. Great investment.

I pulled my s13 projectors off recently, and one of the lenses got cracked. Is it actually possible to replace them or is that a part found few and far between? Not trying to change the thread direction, just wanted to ask.

if the sandwich is reversable its a hella type.

it would be useless to just change the shield on the s13 silvia projectors because itll still light up like ***.

btw lol to the guy saying get 8k and over

You know how much the roads here in pa suck. The coupe i was talking about has megan racing street coilovers... the stiff ride matched with some uneven pavement was what tossed the beam into my mirrors constantly. Just wanted to let anyone who hasn't done the conversion yet know what a huge difference it can make. The beam has significantly wider coverage as well, which is great for anyone else plagued by deer like we are in Bucks county.

the beam will not give you wider coverage. itll actually just blind ppl in front of you and create lots of hotspots.

it makes a huge difference in color. not in output.

It'll still light like crap, but the idea is to see if it can get to LHD without having to invest a ton in HID projector units. If you could switch the cutoff in the OE projector, then you could upgrade to an H7 bulb and get the proper cut off, and have decent lighting as well. A perfect world would be to upgrade the whole projector unit to something much better, but not everyone has the money to invest in it.

there is a cheap alternative. the hella h7 projectors. theyre only like $50 a piece.

it would be really hard to put h7 bulbs inside the silvia housing because the bulbs focal point btwn the two is different.

but if your gonna invest your time into doing that, might as well go all out right?
