If you had it done at a shop, how much did parts/labor end up costing? I'm just curious, I was looking around car-parts.com and KA's are around $500-1000 or so, but I have no idea what a shop would charge for labor. Anyway, just wondering, Thanks

More than it's worth. Swapping your KA for a fresh KA is as simple as it can get. Just learn to do it yourself. Because labor alone might cost more than what you paid for your car.

I know, I'm just trying to get a general idea for the hell of it. I shouldn't need a new engine for years, mine only has a little over 100k on it.

Simple as-Unplug/drain everything-drop transmission-yank motor-drop in fresh motor-plug in-might as well resurface flywheel and replace clutch-throw the transmission back on-refill-drive away

I had spent probably maybe 2 hours taking off parts. Then when the actual swap I yanked the motor and put a new one in, in under 8hrs.This is with just spending 1hr alone on driveshaft bolts. They didn't like me, thye pissed me off so I didn't think about using my swivel which would of taken me 5minutes. Just mark all your vaccum lines and then take a pic.Take off radiator so you don't worry about punching a whoe into it.Rent a enginge hoist for like $30 or buy one for 150.

an engine hoist:), and some crappy old tire to put the old engine on, its really easy, its even easier on this car since its RWD and not so much wiring to do.(belive me, its that easy, try taking out the engine from a mitsubishi eclipse....took about 7h cause the transmission wouldn't let it go)

on all the fwd swaps i do, i just yank the whole thing out, its wayyyyy easier to just split it and atach new engine on the shop floor. Honda's are a cinch, unbolt and unplug everything, get car on lift, set motor on table under car, raise car off motor+transmission. Car lifts save lives
