Hello, just a simple question really quick. When you installed the Cartech for the first time, what were the initial adjustments you made to make things work properly. More specifically, what has been the magic adjustment for when the there is 4 in. vacuum to 3 lbs. boost, to control the leaness that occures during this period? The instructions that come with the Cartech FMU says that it is usually 48-50 psi rail pressure, but what have you guys come up with?

Also, to control the rate of gain what should I initially set the needle valve at? Do I just close it completely? I realize that it will need some adjustment when tuned, but this is to make sure things go well on the way to the dyno, since I will have to drive my truck there. Please help. I am going to try and get it installed within the next 2 weeks.

By the way...this is assuming that the 240sx and the HardBody p/u run the same rail pressure.

According to my calculations, to run 6 psi, I should have to run 90 psi rail pressure.

Thanks

NO, the Cartech FMU..I am looking for basic initial set-up for when I install it for the first time.

Here is a link to the one I got. It is a B.E.G.I unit, but it is identical to the Cartech unit. The second link is to the installation instructions. I have the 2025 unit.

MMMMM...I guess I left the question a little bit too vague, or I am just reading into it a little too much. I figured for sure that one of you guys would know. Atleast, THANKYOU for atleast taking the time to read it.

I would set the rate of gain screw to all the way closed and the zero point to at least 55psi because you want to remove that lean spot as much as possible. but like anything, it's only theory and the best way to find out is with a wideband O2 hookep up. I would run this very rich just to be safe until you confirm the actual Air/fuel ratios. Do you have a fuel pump? I've used both this cartech and vortech fmu in the past but have had more success with the vortech. Be careful, make sure to check fuel pressures also. Good luck
