this is our drift team. We haven't decided on a name but someone thought of "Nismo Inc." Some of us don't like it (like me) and some of us do. We haven't decided yet so any suggestions would be appreciated. There is 1 flat back (dropping the SR20 already), 1 hatchback with a "Veilside" kit and a 2003 Nissan Maxima missing (The Maxima doesn't drift). We have some great video of crazy *** drifting that we were doing on Friday but I need to find out how to put it up. Before any one asks, yes that 300ZX drifts.

And what exactly does a "drift team" do? Do you just go skidding around corners all night wasting your tires and endangering pedestrians?:rolleyes

But seriously... is there some kind of sanctioned racing you participate in? Or is it just group of car guys that "cruise" together?

Well we don't go drifting where there are pedestians. Mostly it's a street in the middle of nowhere, we have people with radios at the corners (to tell us if people were to even come), and a police scanner. When we do go it's late at night. Yes we do waste tires but we put on ****ty tires on the rear tires when we go anyways. We will be practicing tadem drifting soon. Yes about four of us have gone to a race school in Austin for about $ 200.00 a day and do sanctioned autoX also.

That's cool man... at least you make an effort to be safe. I guess I was just confused about the use of the word "team". Anyway... autoX is a blast... but not exactly a place to drift.

I'm looking... I'm looking, I don't see any FWD cars. Looks like a good group you've got there. I also see a serious lack of stickers. Yet another good sign. And at least you guys are being semi-safe.

Good stuff. Get those vids uploaded. If you message me, I can host them, as long as they aren't too big.

that's pretty cool, that's how they do in Japan. You gotta let us know how expensive it is, I'd like to do it but a guy I met at an autox meet said it's expensive.....how are you gonna handle tandem drifts of you hit each other?do you guys drift at the autox meets? I saw a firebird drifting at the pennington field meet on sunday. I couldn't believe I was actually watching that!If you guys start getting serious, and I have my car I'll have to come hang out one weekend.....

hey AJ, you go to SCCA or ER's autox? I just got some new wheels/tires and hopefully, i'll be running in the next events. I usually run with ER and sometimes I'll do SCCA

LOL. Nope no FWD cars here and no stickers. Although, when we went on Friday, there was 1 civic and 1 CRX that were taking notes on how to drift. They were our friends. After about 8 passes they finally got the hang of it. We still made fun of them calling them "*** draggers" LOL.

Well drifting does get expensive in Japan because they have mountain passes that are so small that if you loose control you could loose the car or even worse yourself. As for the U.S. our roads are considerably bigger/wider. So far the only person to spend anything is Danny in the 300zx because he wore the tires down to the steal belt. But even then it's not expensive because he will put on other crappy tires with little tread when we go out there. What is expensive is a ticket for reckless driving if a cop decides he wants to patrol a street in BFE.

We talked about the tandem drifts and we are only going to start behind each other to learn more about each others drift. Only after we are good enough we will start side by side. <-That probably will take another 6 months or so. As for damage we all pretty much make good money and have a hook up at a body shop so we would all chip in to take care of any damage.

We respect autoX and solo II for what it is and will not drift at their events. That is a very strict rule. Grip driving is great and we also like it.

PM me if you want to come out one weekend.

Word. If you ever come out to Texas and your near S.A. I would be glad to show you this road though. Really I don't even think anyone knows it's there much less get traveled on. There is nowhere else to practice techniques like drifting. There are no events that come out to S.A. or Texas for that matter. California is so lucky.:pface

That would be great to get some people in the area. There is always room to learn. We are all always off on the weekend so PM me on what date is good for you if you want to travel to S.A.

This is very inspiring. some of my friends and i have been wanting to start a drift team. I think we got a few good cars for it as well. my 89 240sx, 86 ae86, 91 n/a 300zx, and an 93 tt rx-7. but alas in tennessee we have nowhere to drift, but we do have auto x and that rocks. :batman

kami240sx: I do go to both actually, not as many people go to er's, so you get good runs, but scca has the speed freaks program, I've got one more year, and it has all the badass rides out there, nice to watch. only thing I don't like is working. roadracing is better, more fun but expensive!

Yeah, and pennington will eat some damn tires, that's why I didn't compete at the last event, I want to sell my eclipse, but I don't want to have to buy new tires for it.......

getting close to being able to get my own s14, couple more weeks and I put my car up for sale! :ylsuper
