It's a pretty muddy topic.

I've spoken with him on the phone, seems like a good guy. And I'm well aware of the "mob mentality" that takes over whenever someone on a forum posts about a bad deal from a vendor.

Bottom line is this: I'm not sure. But I DO know this:

Our rule here is clear: We don't allow postings about a vendor UNLESS you have done business with them directly. No hearsay, no "friend of a friend", none of that.

If the guy is indeed a good business, then there's some e-thugs out there who need a good curbstomping. If he's shady in the least, then the system worked (despite the fact that a lot of people involved have never done biz with the guy).

Its boring. Greta just sits there asking softball questions. The only reason she has any ratings at all is because she comes on after Bill OReilly.

Wrong thread?

Side note: We were watching her show in the hotel in Vegas.

Later, as I'm switching channels, Bex comes out of the shower and asks, "Is Gloria Van Dammit still on?"

I damn near shat.

To b.jaye: This is the real deal and it's pretty straight forward:

For the record I am not associated with <any> shop just a guy with a sense of fairness and an active Bulls*** radar.

Scott is the builder of Ed Reese's (sp?) famous TwinTurbo'ed built block G35 that used to burn up the tracks in Southern California and was featured in Nissan Sport Magazine a few times..

Back then he was at VRT and this is really the only knock on him that anyone can find, that for a while he used to be at VRT...VRT's owner later scammed a lot of folks and was pretty shady and Scott got gyped by him too.

But when Scott started his Relentless autsports shop,.. some know-nothing wanting to feel useful, posted on my350z " VRT is at it again on another name!'

Since then a irresponsible and embarrassing internet mob mentality has taken over and nothing Scott could do would sway peoples opinions despite being one of the best builders in the country.

There is a thread with, I think, thousands of posts and 10 of thousands of views (or some such) on my350 about how bad Scott and his Shop Relentless are , yet not a single actual customer on there, except a couple that wrote about what a great job he did fore them.. and they get shouted down or get convinced they were "lucky".

Wealthy Members of that Mob w/ nothing better to do, even admitted on there to hiring private detectives to "dig up dirt" and came back empty handed except for some pics showing that his shop isn't large or glitzy .(Since when is that bad? a bit of reverse class warfare at work here? )

It's so bad, folks are now even intimidated to post something good about him, because on all the poorly run boards (which is most) the mobs run free and attack anyone as "evil" or "shady" or "in cahoots with" who dare to ask questions.

I heard I am now "evil" too! ever since on another board I dared to enforce the rules against posting w/o being a customer and refused to let them intimidate me into making an excepion for ill-bred loudmouths.

I even received PM's there ,trying to convince me the guy is "evil" and asking me to ban him, but I made phonecalls and did my homework instead.

They said "evidence" that Scott is bad would be forthcoming "soon" but it never came later they even posted on another board they want to buy any board that wont close Scott's customers threads...luckily it seems neither FA nor Nico are for sale.

I think its a psychology thing, many people who in real life are polite, even meek, crave the role of the bully and bully with relish on the internet as they feel safe in mobs.

they probaly got beaten up a lot in highschool.

So on the internet they will pick on folks and form gangs any chance they get and turn this beautifl medium of ours into an ugly hobby and simply dont care if they hurt honest hard working folks.

And since on most boards no one is asked to back their claims up, such mobs will often run rampant.

It also doesnt help that competitors are sponsoring some forums, giving a disincentive to many boards in policing the mobs. Also its easy to ruin what should be proud and happy thread by cusotmers on a project when punks hijack the thread everytime, quoting each other and creating a self feeding enviroment.

Anyone who actually does his homework will be able to tell the difference between a self perteptuating hobby-mob and legit complaints.

Its actually pretty sad and I am glad you asked the question giving me a chance to set the record straight here on Nico a board I always cared deeply about.

PS: I humbly suggest this thread be <please> moved to the Z (or maybe G35) section where it is most relevant

LOL haha Wow. Thanks for taking the time to at least ask an honest question, rather than just blindly believe whatever you may randomly read about someone on a forum... written by people who have NO experience at ALL with whom they are spreading gossip about. At least you sir, took the time to ask something rather than just believe whatever rumors you hear, and then mindless spread the BS around like several of the other lemming sheep do on a lot of other forums. It is easy and pretty shady for someone to talk crap about someone who is not even there to defend themselves.

I always have, and always will welcome any and all questions about any rumor a competitor of mine and their followers like to spread about me and my company.

If there is/was an actual customer complaining about anything I or my business may have wronged them in etc, that is one thing..... But when you get constantly harassed on many corrupt message boards with random blatant lies and blown out of proportion rumors by members who have no first hand knowledge, or any actual substantial facts of ANY wrong doing by me and my company..... That is just ridiculous.

NO it needs to stay "for the record" like the title says.I think both the OP and Scott deserve that courtesy.

I <do> however ask this thread be moved ot the Z forum where it belongs.

Rank Has Its Privileges

Palmer's a major and that counts for something, even with a former NCO.

Thank you Badger,

As it turns out, I am being mobilized now and making the switch from reserve back to active duty it appears.

Truth be told, I thought your RHIP reference was historical Nico related.

With this kind of courtesy extended, I need to spend more time here :oface:
