For the love of God somebody help me with this Gas lid

ive had this problem before.

first check to make sure that the little push tab inside is not broken. if it is that might be your problem.

if its not than check the actually tab that is connected to the lid itself it might need to be bent back to the right position

that little 'clip' is not even there so I am not sure if it broke off or just came off?

Mine was like that too, junk yard and install it, about a 5 minuted job

Isn't there a cable that attaches to it? Where would the cable fallen to?

Cables on it, probably the plastic tip is broken. But word of advise, try then ask.

Lol, when mine broke I used a flathead screwdriver to hold it shut. But everytime you need gas you have to pop the trunk and pull the screwdriver out. Its about 60 bucks for a new latch from the dealership. The latch is included with the entire cable for the trunk and gas door.
