For the RPS 13Title is self explainitory. I just blew up KA24DE and I want to do a CA or SR. I'm just trying to do pricing between both and advantages between the engines. I really want to get 300hp I just don't know if CA or SR is better. For a car with 300hp I just wonder if the ratio's on the KA is shorter than the CA. I don't care too much about final gear or top speed. For me it's staying in the power band.

Only difference is the 5th gear. Its a tad taller on the KA.

In terms of what? The bellhousings are different. In order to use the KA transmission you need to use the CA bellhousing and swap it over. Its a real pain to do. I did it on mine... By the way, an RPS13 is an SR powered 180SX.

Another quick question, how bad is the clutch on the transmission when you get them. I know the on the SR's clutch is well abused. But since the CA only puts out 170 I was hoping it wouldn't be as bad and I wouldn't have to replace it right away.

The clutch is something you had better just plan on replacing regardless. For the most part the CA is going to have seen just as much abuse as the SR.

two of my friends had their ca18det's arrive with mint racing clutches.

Mine....is slipping at 10 psi now

You never know till you see what you get with it.
