anyone ever wish you could start the car without pushing the clutch down like they do in europe? i definitely do, especially since i let the car warm up for a minute or 2 before driving it, and if i want to stand outside and load up the trunk or look at the engine or something while it's warming up i always have to get in, clutch, start it, then neutral ... PITA. with this mod -> windows down with fob as i walk to car, reach in with keys in hand, knock it back into neutral, push button, and voila!

it's completely foolproof, you can only start the car in neutral without the clutch physically being pushed - if it's in gear it will not start. all it takes is 1 extra wire and a diode. another side benefit of doing this is you can use an automatic transmission remote start if you wanted, without the hassles of installing a more complicated manual transmission one.

anyways ... if anyone is interested, after i do this i'll let you guys know how it goes and what the results are.

instead of letting the car warm up, I just plug it in with the blockheater all year except summer and bam! always warm

Not everyone has 6 foot legs either...

Another way to fix...get a CVT haha

but for sure, I own a CVT and am still interested in the process behind this.

We don't have that option. Block heaters may be standard for Canadian vehicles but not so in the US.
