Hey Guys,

I'm seriously considering putting my car up for sale:(... which seriously sucks especially since I got it running well again (new pistons, rings, headgasket and headbolts), and I just purchased an S-AFC and AVC-R, but its just taking up too much of my time. My grades have dropped over the last year with this motor swap and all the work associated with it and I just found out I lost my scholarship (GPA dropped below a 3.0) so I need the money to finish my education:( (for those of you that don't know I'm a junior at the University of Central Florida studying Mechanical Engineering...) Here's a little background info on the car and motor mods:

I'm sure I'm forgetting some parts I've installed, but that covers the major ones... I'm asking $7000 obo for it. If anyone has questions you can email me at [email protected] or call my cell 407-252-4712.

Wow,..............I feel for you. Now it will be down to like 2 CA powered S13S that I know of, and mine just hit the road this week. I don't really plan to spend more money motorwise.

keep that car and motor, put it back to stock as possible and sell off all the performance parts , apply for aid and grants. and study..... i dont get how the car has kill your grades? the car cant take up that much of your time. . how much do you spend hanging out and online . i bet thats where your time is consumed and grades affected.

I have a job. I work at Nissan remember? And I'm starting a new job at an engineering firm here soon. But the bottom line is that a performance car takes up too much of my time. For example the cracked pistons that left me car-less the friday before exams week sucked. I'd really prefer not to take out loans or grants and just get a cheaper more reliable car. And no jon I'm not parting it out;)

Ouch. I blew my KA Tuesday and exams started yesterday for me. We are quite alike my friend.

Still, good luck man!

Chingon: good luck on that appeal bro! My roommate was mechanical engineering here at Texas A&M, but his grades dropped below a 2.5 2 semesters in a row. He is now civil enginerring and hates every day of it:( He had no chance in his appeal...

I have another lip at Nissan if anyone wants it. It doesn't belong to me (the parts guy bought it to sell it) but he wants whatever list price is for it. I think it lists for $275 but I'll have to call him and see. If you're serious about buying it send me an email and I'll get an exact price for you. [email protected]

You'll regret selling the car...don't do it. Take advantage of the summer and make as much money as you can to make the car more 'reliable'. You have pretty much everything done to it...see how things play out. If it's still too much, then sell it. It would be a shame to see someone who's put so much time and effort into something they love only to sell it to someone who will NEVER appreciate it as much as you do or even worse, run it into the ground. Either way, good luck.

yeah, man, dont sell your car. i thought about selling my datsun to start over, but i realized i will probably never start the project again. and after seeing your car in person, i doubt there will ever be another s13 coupe that clean available, and i have looked at a lot of them.

oh, as far as my car, instead of selling it, i decided to buy another and switch all the parts over

Kinda off topic, but I love how your car looks orange in the sun but it's red when it's darker. My car's the same color...

Oh yeah, don't sell your car!

Oh really!? I'll be looking for a clean coupe come this winter. I'll be rebuilding my CA and instead of putting it back in my beat up 240 i'd like to drop it right into a nice straight bodied one. You are kind of far away but if you think it would drive all the way back to IL then i'd come get it. When it comes time to sell it, let me know!

Sean, you need to contact me ASAP. Your reasoning is flawed my friend. You WILL regret this decision. I've been down the path you are on. I KNOW this from experience. All that you are doing is prolonging the inevitable. Here's what will happen; you'll sell this car, and get a cheap, reliable car with good gas mileage. You'll be happy with yourself for being responsible, and doing the "right" thing. But then you'll start to get the itch. You will want to wrench on something. You'll want to make something faster. You'll want to push things to the limit. You'll realize what a humongous mistake you made. It will make you sick to your stomach. Then you'll start to miss your car BADLY. You'll begin to regret your new "responsible" car. Regret will turn to loathing, loathing to hate. One day you'll wake up and realize that you don't even want to go anywhere or do anything because you're going to have to drive this worthless excuse for a car to do those things. You'll want your 240 back. You'll want ANY 240. Soon you'll be looking around on eBay and autotrader, just to see what the prices are. Then you'll start seeing how much you can get for your "responsible" car, ya know, just to check. You'll start laying in bed at night, thinking about having another 240. It will be in your dreams at night and your thoughts in the day. It will consum you. Sean, what we all have is a disease, and the only known cure is ownership. DO NOT sell that car. It will be something that you will look back on with regret and sorrow for quite possibly the rest of your life. My dad, (who's in his 40's) used to have a Chevelle that he always talks about. He always says how much he wishes he hadn't sold that car. My grandpa used to have a '56 Chevy that he wishes he had never sold. Sean, this is the car in your life you will either look back on with regret, and tell the same story that my father and grandfather tell, or keep and remain happy for years to come. Sean, this isn't me just trying to convince you not to sell your car. This is me, talking friend to friend, car owner to car owner. Don't sell the car. Find another way. You are soooo close to having what you've always wanted. Why would you give up now? Take out a loan, You're almost done, one loan isn't going to break you, I know it from experience. Finish the car this summer. And then work your tail off for your last 2 semesters, get the grades back, graduate, get a good job, and ENJOY YOUR CAR! It's your life, it's my life. It's what we do. It's a part of who we are. You can't change that man. It's just how it is.

Hell I got (3) kids, day care, rent, car insurance for (4) cars, an expensive hobby and a new job to boot in which I won't see my 1st paycheck for a month. This doesn't make me want to go sell my cars and I got a crap load of money invested in them and that ain't no joke. As much as I could use the extra money, I would be taking a big time loss and I don't think too many people are willing to break me off for the amount of labor I've put into these 2 engines. Think about it long and hard and whatever really got you to thinking this way neds to be re-evaluated.

I'm going to try selling some stuff off... I just put the sidemount back on and pulled the S-AFC and AVC-R out of the car. I'll start a new thread of stuff for sale, but if anyone's still interested in buying the car complete, let me know... I haven't decided what I'm doing yet, which is why I made this thread. I wanted to see some opinions and I did:)

I'll see how much I can make this summer putting it back to stock and working, (I already apply for all the grants and loans I can, and I DO get money though them, but many are GPA dependent, and I doubt I'll get any new ones this year.) I'm also going to try to purchase a beater to be my daily driver. Maybe an S12...

I'm thinking about an older SE-R sentra for a 2nd car. Still sporty but I can get the decent gas mileage.

I really wouldnt look for a second sporty car just something with badass gas mileage. Or a Titan like Bio said so I can run over people.
