If you don’t already know the 1st gen Q45, then this is probably not the car for you. But, if you do know the G50, or if you have owned one in the past --then this one invites you to take a really close look at her, because the details are amazing!
Top of the line “a” or Active Suspension model (active is working).
Desirable KH3/P color combo
Build 11/94, 154,2xx miles, Service history back to Day 1.
Comes with Monroney, 2 Master keys and working remotes (one key/remote combo is Virgin).
I have owned this car for a little over 15 years and 47k miles. It gets driven regularly, but certainly not excessively.
It spent it’s first 12 years in arid New Mexico, It’s also lived in California, Florida, and presently Oregon under my ownership. It has always been garaged by me. The car has no rust/hail/oxidation damage.
My goal for the car has always been to maintain/preserve to factory standards or better, and drive the car, but never abuse it. It has predominately OE Nissan replacement parts installed, with a few exceptions due to obsolescence or where there was a well-reasoned change for an aftermarket/upgrade part.
The term ‘survivor’ gets over-used in vintage car circles, but this one (while mostly original) is no beat-up neglected step child.
It is 27+ years old, and as an unrestored vehicle does have it’s imperfections:
The paint does have some scratches and gravel chips. The LF fog light trim/mounting screw closeout is missing.
The driver side vanity mirror cover (inside sunvisor) has broken off—this is extremely common on G50s. The passenger side mirror cover has 1 of 2 hinges still holding (cover is attached, but misaligned).
The Bose head unit door flap for the bass/treble/fader/balance is in the “open” position.
The key warning chime rarely works.
It was wired for and has installed under the center armrest the “Infiniti Communicator” early cellular/car phone. But of course that is just a museum piece now.
Everything else works. Everything.
What’s not original on the car?
It has an aftermarket 2-row copper/brass radiator—CSF 2652. I have the original Nissan Calsonic radiator available which was still fully operational when I switched to the 2-row.
The Factory Sony 10-disc changer was replaced. The aftermarket 6-disc works fine.
The 15” BBS basketweave rims were replaced with 2007 Infiniti G35 rims (17x7.5) and the correct shank lug nuts. Presently running Conti Extreme Contact 235/50/17 tires (DW in front, DWS in rear). Fronts have a 3mm sandwich spacer so no rubbing on the 3rd link. Tires have 8/32 tread, with even wear.
It has had window tint since 1995. In 2009, I replaced the purple tint with ceramic 40 and 60. The newer tint has not changed color.
I did a “smart coil” on plug conversion in 2019. The conversion is completely stealth, and will not lose judging points at a show. The writeup can be found here topic623673.htmlon NICO.
It has a Hayden stacked plate transmission cooler installed in series with the factory filter/cooler arrangement.
I replaced the white faced analog clock with a JDM black faced one.
I also performed the following “day 2” modifications, that while strictly speaking are not correct for model year 95, did appear originally on the 1990-94 model year G50s, and I liked them….
1. The engine trim cover with the specifications placard
2. The lower door (parting) seals
3. The door check pin covers
4. The ‘bible’ in the trunk
What else?
Clean (unbranded, no lien holder) Florida title in my name.
I have engine oil analysis reports for the last 9 changes.
Detailed service history from my ownership and end of year mileage records in excel format (can email to you). Infiniti service history from owner 1. Infiniti service receipts from owner 2.
The active suspension strut accumulators were recently recharged. Car has no leaks of any fluids.
Why am I selling it?
Well, I’m not leaving the Q45/G50 family, as I plan to keep the ’94 active (KL0/W). I just don’t drive enough to need two of them and as I get older it gets harder to keep them in the condition they deserve.
I also believe this is a car that deserves to be appreciated by the right owner and caretaker. It’s not a race car, it’s not soul-less like a Toyota Camry, it’s not the lowest mileage Q out there, and certainly not the cheapest. But it IS the real-deal—pedigreed, serviced, regularly driven, perhaps the finest example available of the pinnacle of Nissan early ‘90s engineering.
Asking $8500 will consider reasonable offer to go to the right new owner.
