just use the s13 bracket. it'll spread open wide enough to hold the z32 filter.

I put in a '93 300zx filter over the weekend. You just need to spread it out a bit and it is fine. I did notice a little bit of a performance boost, but my guess is I just was driving it a little harder. PLACEBO!Unless the filter was really old.

ya - i notived absolutely no difference in mine. i'm pretty sure the only "pro" to doing this is the price tag - i seem to remeber the S13 filter being more expensive.

what does 300zx fuel filter do that 240sx's can't? just bigger capacity?

the z32 filter is usually cheaper than the s13 filter. that's a good enough reason for me to switch ;) .

IT HAS A HIGHER FLOW RATE AND BETTER FILTERING PROPERTIES. IT'LL ALLOW MORE FUEL TO THE RAIL FILTER THE FUEL ALOT FINER. IT IS TRUE THAT GENERALLY THE Z32 FILTER IS CHEAPER THAN THE S13/S14 ONE. PERFORMANCE GAINS ARE VERY MINIMAL UNLESS MATCHED WITH OTHER INTAKE MODIFICATIONS. INCREASE INJECTOR SIZE, HIGHER FUEL PRESSURES, MORE AIR INTAKE, ETC.

Just a word of caution, I did this mod and starting going through fuel pressure regulators faster than fuel. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem but it got really frustrating(not to mention expensive). It may have been something else wrong with the car but everytime I replaced the FPR it would stop for a while then a couple of months later it would do it again. I finally went back to the original fuel filter and haven't had a problem since. I think it really only makes a difference if your going the way of the boost. That's been my experience anyway, I can't speak for everyone.

I ran 300zx filter for two years, and 15k+ miles with no problem. Maybe I was lucky on my '92 ka24de at 98k - 116k.

You get a lot more thrust at higher rpm for sure.

actually you probably do get the same HP... it's just that a clogged filter will starve the engine at high RPM. If you drive like a librarian, I doubt you will notice a difference. But if you drive like "hell", you will be glad you got a new filter - 240sx size or 300zx size.

BTW, I got nearly 30mpg on a trip from NYC to Montreal, at avg speed of 65 mph, with 1 passenger and luggage. My engine was fully tuned up, except for PCV valve. Also high pressure tires helps a lot.
