npt is a tapered thread so it would prob not work well if it worked at all. you could prob go with a 1/4npt and be ok. is this for a fancy oil pressure sending unit? if so you can get an adaptor from http://www.nissport.com. it aint cheap but it works on my car. you could also check a http://www.mcmaster.com they have something that will work.

BSPT size is 54 degree angle tapered and NPT is 60 degree angle, i found out. i talked to a machinist today and he said it would work , but i still wonder if anybody has done this or more info on it?

oh crud, i did not know bspt was tapered. if you got machinist stamp of approval then its all good in the hood bro. personally i would pay for an adapter first(maybe a cheap one from mcmaster-carr) so i could keep the block-o stock-o. i am interested to see your results though. please do what you think is better. there are downsides to the adaptors. some adaptors are so heavy they can cause stress fractures in the block from vibration.

Fully warmed up? Kind of high I think. Starting cold the pressure could be pretty high, maybe 75psi. After the engine warms up the oil thins out. It should settle down around roughly 15psi. If it's really 24 and the engine sounds fine then probably all is well. Maybe the gauge is off? Too low is usually the problem. What kind of oil are you using?

ya when i start up if i dont wait till fully warm it runs between 65 -75 PSI. around 4000rpm it hits 80PSI. When it warms up it usually runs around 60psi and idles at 22-24psi. I got almost all the air out of the line and i think the little bit that is left is causing it to be out maybe 1 PSI. the gauge is a 2 5/8 Autometer, brand new,so i'm pretty sure its not the gauge. I usually run vaveline 5/30 but i recently (last oil change) switched to redline cause i can get it where i live finally.

that does seem high. is it a mech or elec gauge? i have noticed with the few mech gauges i have used, that they suck! the pressure port is far enough into the lube sys that i dont think a restriction could cause that. maybe get your hands on a real pressure tester(like a snap-on) that screws onto your oil filter and check like that. some shops have one(not mine).
