well, i finally got my CA in the car, it runs great. so heres my story. i work for JWT, my boss and i are talking about my motor the week before i am planning on dropping in the motor, and he mentions that i should install a lightweight flywheel, and upgraded clutch. so we pick up one of our JWT flywheels, and grab a 300zx twin turbo clutch and presure plate and start measuring. the flywheel ring gear appears to be one tooth less than the CA flywheel, no big deal, but the outer diameter is a couple milimeter larger. now, the presure plate bolts up nicely, because our SR flywheels are drilled for both 240mm and 250mm disks. i notice the presure plate over hangs the edge of the flywheel by quite a bit, but think nuthing of it. we later install it, and try to fit the transmission and the starter, we hand crank it on the stand and it cracks, but stops. the presure plate ears rub on the 2 bumps inside the bellhousing where the locating dowels are located. we grind down the bumps, and it spins fine, so we try the starter, it turns, but stops again, we notice that there are marks on the starter hood and we realize its the ears hitting the hood of the starter, so we source a starter from a S12 CA18ET that has a starter with no hood, we throw it on, and it cranks right away.

moral of the excessivly long story, a JWT RWD Sr20 Flywheel, 300zx TT disc and presure plate, a little grinding and a CA18ET starter work flawlessly together to give me more holding power than i think i will ever need.

it really depends on what disk and presure plate you wanna run, we have clutches ranging from mild over stock, to full 2 sided metal disk, with various presure plates with diferent clamping ratings. and the whole pricing thing, i dont know, thats a clark question, if you want, i can try and get a list for you float6969, for all the diferent options availliable, since you took the initiative to start up the GB,

Hey Knightrider any thoughts if an SR Fidanza flywheel and spec clutch would work? I would be willing to get an S12 start if it did. I bought those 2 cause I read and old post that someone said it would work and then before I dropped my motory in everyone started to say it wouldn't work so I didn't even give it a try.

it should work, you might need to grind parts of the bellhousing for clearence, but only if the presure plate overhangs the flywheel.

simple, that picture was just a representation of what it looks like, not the acual item, SR flywheels are 8 bolt just like the CA.
