This is just, just, arrggh! Come on Jeanne, you bit*h!! Get it overwith! Just obliterate my home so I can get a nice fat check & move to somewhere like Asheville or Roanoke.

This probably belongs in another forum, but I feel like screaming, shi**ing, and banging my head against a tree in the middle of a field somewhere.

Nine more weeks of this until season's over?

I *am not* buying anymore food to throw away until Thanksgiving.

Does anyone have any idea what it's like being trapped in a house with two 3 year olds & a 7 year old with no power, no running water, and nothing but Beanie Weenies & warm coke for ELEVEN DAYS?!?!

That was my stint with Frances, the last storm from hell.

My prayers are with those in the panhandle affected by Ivan, I saw that kind of devastation in MIA for Andrew. It hurts your heart to be amongst it.

E-nough!!

Sorry for the rant, feel free to hijack this thread with some relevant Infiniti content.

I'll tell you what. I'd rather have earthquakes over hurricanes anyday. Speaking of which, we haven't had one here in a while.

The RB, hood, fenders, bumper, trans, inst cluster, ecu, beautiful uncut wiring harness is from a ~60k mi clip I bought for someone that didn't wind up using it. So I figured I'd keep it, then the car I bought to put it in was totalled for me.

Totally stock, beautiful. Not one spec of gradoo floating around under the valve cover, virtually ZERO wear on the cam lobes.

If I don't sell it, I'm going to find a street rod rolling chassis to put it in.

C-Kwik, I still would take the storms over the quakes, only because with the storms you get plenty of warning.

They're both deadly. I think the storms have killed about 70 in FL. I think about that many died in the Northridge quake about 10 years ago (1/3 from heart attacks IIRC). But at least with a quake your stuff is in the same place when you get home and not soaking wet, plus I don't think it's possible to have even 2 big ones back to back in a short period of time.

If you didn't have any kids, I would say throw a party.

But, since you do have kids, I would say, bust out the legos. If they're old enough. You didn't have power for 11 days. Wow, that's bad. As for the beanie weinie issus, go buy some canned fruit or tuna fish. Also, ravioli in a can is pretty good IMO, even when it's cold. Do you have a gas or electric stove? If it's gas, then you can heat stuff.

I personally like when hurricanes come. The weather is very nice. Usually in the mid 70s. And, hurricanes do not cause much lightning. So, you can go "play" in the rain. Or go swimming. Just think about it, if we did not have hurricanes in FL, our winter would start about a month later. Hurricanes are natures way of cooling the earth off.

Wow, that's a weird statement. Hurricanes are rather predictable, earthquakes can't really be predicted.

Um, your stuff might be in the same place, but it's usually in pieces. IIRC, earthquakes some in two stages. There's the main part (cant remember what it's called), and then there's the aftershock. So, that's kind of like being hit with two of them in a row.

I don't no what your situations like. But, I was "trapped" with a 5month old and a 6 year old for 4 days without power or running water. Know what we did. I had the 6 year old(girl) help me work on the Q that was in the garage . That kept us occupied for a few days.

You may not have power, or running water, but you seem to have an internet connection. All is not lost!

:-)

Seriously, tho, I feel for all of you in the south. You've had more than your share this year.

I am in Pasco and I am in it right now, it sucks. At least it is a free day off. You will get it soon in Orlando from what it sounds.

I think I'll stick with our earthquakes too. They aren't particularly predictable, but we don't get them every year, let alone multiples a year. I haven't been through a BIG earthquake since '89 since I wasn't in socal for Northridge. We have little ones more frequently, but they are often so small they go unoticed by most people. But... when that next big one comes, it's gonna rip things apart as always. Its been to long, we must have a big one coming soon.... scary.

Back online this morning, finally. I can't believe it, there's a huge tree on the shore of the lake that mauled a big mass of wires, yet I had the power come back on in the middle of the night.

Good thing it did because it was starting to smell like feet &a$$es in my bedroom with three small uninvited guests sucking up all the air.

Last night was kinda fun though, lots of good conversations with my kids & I got to introduce them to hand shadow puppets on the wall from a small flaslight lantern. With PS2 for them & the computer for me, we have been strangers sharing a house for a little while.

Hurricanes are a new political strategy to remind the hanging chads who IS YOUR DAAAAAAAAAADDY ....... and his BROTHER! And who controls FEMA till mid Jan

The DEMOs are promising if elected, they will do away with the Hurricane forever........they will change to "Typhoon" after the election though Hillary suggested Willy-Willies (singular Willy-Willy) as used in Australia. Bill and Monica said it was easy to remember--------why not?

Important to have a little levity in the situation.

In 2005 the 4th Willy Willy will be named "Dennis" --------about time.

Im keeping an eye on Mt St Helens, shes burping and hiccuping every 30-90 seconds now. Same symptoms that preceded the last big eruption.

Before you move to Asheville, take a look at what the three hurricanes did there. Truely BIG TIME flooding.

There is nowhere to hide.

I have to say we had quite a ride today in California. The day started out warm and humid - "earthquake weather," and it didn't disappoint. I live about 1 1/2 hours from the epicenter.

When the earthquake happened, I was meeting with a client who's office is in a trailer - and all I could think of were the pictures I've seen lately of destroyed mobile homes in Florida.

Luckily we got off pretty easy today - but it rolled for a LONG time.

Moral of the story - it's dangerous to say, "we haven't had an earthquake in a long time."
