For computer people

Ok, so I'm here at college, and I'm on my new G4 Mac laptopYou might say it sucks, but I actually really like itVery easy to get accustomed to.

Anyways, I need a program to be able to download MP3s with. The best one for Macs is Poisoned, but our school's firewall blocks any incoming files from being downloaded.

Does anyone know any other programs (besides Limewire, that doesn't work either) for Macs that I could use to get some music?

Macs don't suck they are awsome for video and music. I don't know of any proggys for mac just do a google i suppose.

Another thing is if you can get the firewall settings, im sure its a proxy like most schools are. There should be settings you can get.

PowerBook G4s kick ***, I love mine, even though Virginia Tech engineering wants us to use PeeCees, regardless of the fact their supercomputer is based on Mac G5s. :-(

But anyway, iSwipe is a decent program . . . http://www.hillmanminx.net/iswipe/ . . . you might still have issues with firewalls, but it might be worth a shot.

you just need to change your ports. my school has the AIM port blocked, so I just changed it to use port 80... (HTTP port) and it works fine. You need to mess with your port settings until you find one that works. Or you could try a computer forum that has people in the same situation as you... like hardforum.

The network here was automatically set up, (its an ethernet connection) and I'm afraid that if I change any of the settings I'm going to screw everything up real nice like. Option 1- Fine a P2P prog that doesn't get killed by firewallOption 2- Someone tell me how to change the ports on my connectionCan anyone help me out?

Also.. If nobody can find anything, does anyone know a posting forum for Mac users??? Thanks
