Does rear differential use same gear oil as transmission? If not, what kind of oil should I get? I use GL-4 redline MT-90 and can I use this on a differential too?

gl-5?How many quarts of it?I remember I was supposed to use gl-4 because of the synchro wear. Wouldn't this happen with gl-4 on the diff's little planet gears?

gl-5 75w90 is correct for the differential. insert a 2-3ft length of tubing into the fill plug and run it out over top of one of the wheels so you can actually invert the bottle. throw down some newspaper have someone keep an eye on it while you empty the 2nd bottle into it. go slowly, when it starts to overflow its full. wipe up the mess. thats all you gotta know.

synchro's are made of bronze, the gears in the diff are made of steel. GL-5 is better because it has pressure additives.
