Today Sean (NeedCAforS13) and I put on a GTI-R T28 turbo today on the CA. Total time it took was 12 hours with no prepping or anything. It seems like a long time but we had 0 gaskets or proper custom parts needed. We had to run around to different stores to get it and parts made. This was just some stuff we ran into while putting on the turbo and for anyone attempting this turbo should know.

We used the stock manifold. We used all the lines from a SR T25. I think using stainless steel braided lines would of been a big help of course. We had to clock the turbo to make it align up and fit all the lines (water/oil). You will need to make a custom bracket for the wastegate. Sean made an awesome one from just stuff around his garage. You will have to modify the inlet for the compressor to use your hotpipe. We had one of the Enjuku guys cut it and weld it on the correct position so we could use the hotpipe. Other then that everything went as planned just dam bolts under the manifold and stupid water lines not lining up. We had to take the manifold off a few times on and off to bend the water line correctly. Also the previous owner drilled an EGT gauge into the backhousing and left it open for us to find a dam plug and proper tap to fix it.

Overall runs great on stock boost and loving it. Sean is a mad man and dam he can do anything. Hope this helps for anyone.

funny thing is I have a GTI-R T28 as well =)... Mine needs welding on the turbine housing but that'll get fixed soon enough. How much of a difference is it compared to the stock t25?

we're using standard CA18DET lines as well. He just used to have an SR t25 on there before... so I think the lines were slightly bent to fit that. first impressions, car feels a bit faster, but we're still on stock boost. Pulls nicely

Yes, I hear you got ahold a great turbo unit. Alot of S14 guys swap their turbo for the Pulsar one. Great find!
