Recently my brother and I both took our cars to emissions and both failed nox,

I decided to take it upon myself to figure out why, i went through the trouble of doing all the diagnostic tables in the fsm but found that on both of our cars (91 and 93 240sx ka24de) it was the same problem: The 90 degree hose on the bottom of the egr control valve was rotted through, i though I might as well post it up here to help with anyone that may be having similar inop egr problems.

If this is a repost let me know ill delete it, but i didnt find anything here on it.

By rotted, do you mean there was an actual hole in the hose? makes sense since that hose carries exhaust gas.

good job yes, this is the most common (like 99%) of all egr problems related to the ka and many nissan motors. guess they couldnt splurge the extra buck for a metal line.

nissan calls it a BPT hose.
