So I recently purchased a 04 Murano SL AWD to use as a family car. After reading all the post about the CVT going out on the Murano forums I'm all paranoid about it. I'm not use to having AWD and think that it is just feeling the difference between it and the A/C. I know there is also a 35hp defference along with a few miles with years but should the throttle response feel that much different? I mean I know it will not be as quick but I about spin the tires and give myself whiplash trying to pull out normally in the A/C after driving the Murano for a few days. I have notice a couple of times that the speedo has hesitated around 75-80mph but the vehicle is still getting faster. Everything seems normal no noise, vibration, etc.... The Murano supposedly passed the however many point inspection with a clean bill of health but wondering if shouldn't passes up the extended warranty.

Its in the 03-05 Muranos around 70-100k miles. I don't know that it happens to every Murano, but it happened to a lot of them. The transmission failure is usually in high heat situations and is felt from a dead stop. A stuttering problem matched with the transmission throwing itself into a defense mode and only going about 15 mph.
