Well guys, I am planning on buying a 240 in the near future and I am doing my reaearch on some suspension components. Pretty much I am looking for some proper coilovers.

On my previous car I ran koni yellow/gc sleeves with top hats and 350f/450r rate 7 inch 2.5 od springs). I want to run this setup again, but with the 240 being a strut type car (vs double wishbone), the amount of work invovled in making said setup useful might not be worth the effort vs gains.

It seems the consensus over here is the KTS damper system. But, I also got some recommendations for tein SS or Apex ExV setup. But, I was browsing ebay and came across a company called footwerks. Never really heard of them, and you cannot tell a product quality just based off looks. So, I searched here and found nothing, search google, zip, and searched a few other sources and nothing.

So, with all those resources exhausted, I decided to head on over here and see if anyone knew of em.

Any one got any sort of info on them and reviews. Would love to see em.

Thanks

I've never heard of them. I would say don't consider them unless you want to be the guinnea pig that tries them out and gives us a nice review. Chances are, they are another cheap knockoff but I may be wrong. Good hunting!

the koni / GC setup would be better than tein SS or EXV, i havent heard of these but sounds like cheap knockoffs like bossie said

youd be good with a koni / GC setup, its not hard to do, running KTS will work great though and probably be easier than having to get konis custom valved

Dam, thanks for the good answers. I also was reading through thier posts and it had optional spring rates from 220 up to 1120. Almost impossible for dampers of this proce range. Even the spss koni can handle only up to a max of 1000 and those are 1200 a set for dampers alone (no springs, nothing).

what kind of car did you have before? is this going to be a racecar?

reason i ask, these cars dont need anything over like a 450 / 325, front and rear for the street, just an fyi while youre looking at stuff

but yeah, theres a lot of low end coilovers where they try to just throw a combo together and sell it cheap, and theyre *very* poorly mis-matched

The setup before this was on a Integra with azenis. Damn, best money I have ever spent. And with the reputationg and support as well as vast development data and technology, I really wanted to apply this setup to which ever other car I get.

What would you recommend for a daily grind setup with occassional autox thrown in the mix?? I also wanted something that would give me adjustment of height to attain that perfect stance while not affecting damper travel.

if you dont mind the higher rates of coilovers, which it sounds like you dont, you could run the KTS youve seen so many people talking about

you can get them in 7/5, 8/6, and 9/7 kg/mm rates, the standard rates are the 8/6 (btw, multiply by 56 to get these rates in lbs.)

im actually ordering a set with 7/5 springs this weekend, and ill be daily driving it

these will give you everything youre looking for

Yep. I was just thinking of just going with something proven (like what I did with the koni/gc setup) and call it a day.

In the end, it will pay dividends. I am not fond of this whole JDM rates thing. Just something that works and it seems the consensus among coilover manufacturers is 8/6 kg, which is not too bad. I would probably run something slightly less and use a sway bar to compensate for whatever rotation or front end 'flattening' I might want to dial in

What are the inherent handling traits of the S13 fastback chassis and what is the common setup people run with on a daily stint??

P.S. I maybe missed it, but how long do you have before the PM option is available??

we dont have PM'ing

the s13 naturally has an understeer, if youd like to compensate with sway bars you could run the 8/6 fine, youd really need the tires to grip with those rates

people running coilovers normally have 7/5 or 8/6

theres a lot of people running springs too, stock are 2.0 and most people run springs between 2 and 3, some as much as 5

but you sound like more of the coilover type, and most you find will be 7/5 or 8/6 anyway...just make sure you have the tires to handle those rates, which it sounds like you had anyway running the azenzis
