Ok, well I just had this thought as I was parking my car. Is it possible to have my LED footwells turn on when my headlights turn on? idk if this has been brought up before, i know ppl have asked about them turning on when you open the door, but what about when headlights turn on? i think that'd be pretty cool, since the only time i turn them on is at night. and also still use the existing switch as a kill/turn off switch for when the 5-0 is driving by and I needa turn them off. Anyone know?

(side note: ever since i had my fascia installed the AUTO ON isn't really auto, it just turns them on even is daylight, so i just keep it on off then put it on AUTO at night)

Any thing is possible... you could fuse tap the running lights fuse and wire it through the firewall to your switch. Leave the feet lights switch on all the time (except when you want them off, of course) and then run the other wire from the switch to the lights.

This way when the running lights turn on (they come on with the DRL's and the headlights, don't know if you want them on with DRL's also) the feet lights will be on unless the kill switch is flipped.

Something to consider... if your lights are currently wired up to come on when the door is opened, they are wired on a switched ground wire. This would convert the switching to a live wire for the feets.

Nope, wouldn't be hard to do at all if you switched a live wire. Now that I think of it, it would be pretty simple even if you originally switched a ground wire.

The most difficult part would be getting the wire through the firewall which isn't really that bad. From there it would just be a matter of swapping out the wire that brings your switch power from the battery(or where ever you tapped it) with the parking light wire.

And for DRL, Daytime Running Light. The orange, non-turn signal light.

Edit: Don't know if you knew what I was talking about when I said fuse tap the parking light fuse, so here it is. They sell them at Advance Auto Parts and Autozones. It just plugs into a fuse slot, you put two fuses in it and there is like a 6inch leader wire on the end of it. The current accessory(parking lights in this case) gets fused while the other fuse gives the leader wire power(blue lights).

When the DRL's are off, power won't go to the port on in the fuse panel for parking lights so neither the parking lights nor blue lights will have power. When the DRL's are on, the port gets activated giving power to the parking lights and your blue lights.

There is a fuse for DTRL, but it is always powered so that is why I recommend tapping the parking light option as they only come on when the headlights/drls are activated.
