I just ordered the 4 piece footwell LED kit from ebay like many have and I would like to installed so that it turns on only when the doors are open, like the door step lamp. I was initally going to tab into door step lamp, thinking that there wouldn't be so many wires going into the door, but unfortunately, there seems to be way too many to check. I was searching was searching for previous posts and the FSM, but I can't figure it out. Has anyone been able to link it to the step lamp or use the fuse box located under the steering wheel? Thanks.

When I had my Altima, I wired the footwell leds to a switch. I wanted the leds to turn with door light, but it was so hard to do which require a lot of work. Good luck.

This is what I did.

Genius! Thanks for the reminder! It didn’t occur to me that Doc's Kick Plates were also wired into step lamps. I was thinking of wiring it inside the car but it seems it would be much easier to run a wire through the door and find the wires inside the door panel instead. I will install it using this method.
