Um, what? A stock GT runs 13.5 @ 105mph. So, please, if you would, elaborate...MinisterofDOOM wrote:And the 'Stang is definitely hot.Too bad no matter how great it looks, it's still a teenage girl mobile with zero potential mechanically.
yeah...so are the Porches it's beaten in road races...MinisterofDOOM wrote:

Yeah, it does the quarter wonderfully. But it doesn't do jack otherwise.Solid Rear Axle? No thanks.Floppy crap frame? No thanks.repo man wrote:Um, what? A stock GT runs 13.5 @ 105mph. So, please, if you would, elaborate...

Naw, I admit I have not driven one yet...could have test driven one, but I was to pissed of at the Fjord dealership that morning for other things.repo man wrote:I don't like the drugs, but the drugs like me...
Is this because you have track experience with the new Mustang and are speaking first-hand? Car and Driver seems to think it works pretty well when the road gets twisty...
yeah...the Porches tend to eat it's a** up in going into the curves, but quickly fall prey to torque.Sil40_Mayhem wrote: +1
If any of you get a chance, check out the Grand Am Cup and Rolex GT races on the Speed Channel. They have the new Mustang GTs running with M3s, CTS-Vs, RX-8s, Porches, and others. Needless to say, they don't do too bad (although, admittedly, I'm sure the low end grunt coming out of the corners and high speed potential through the straights don't hurt).
Ford must have promised you something other than what the rest of the world got then. Most reviews call it the best Mustang yet, the numbers dont lie.MinisterofDOOM wrote:It's not really a BAD car...it's just nowhere near what ford promised us, and that makes me hate it.
I'm talking about the mustang gt.sensibleS13driver wrote:edit: did you confuse the Ford GT with the mustang GT?
SOLID REAR AXLE. Ford PROMISED over and over and over that the GT ABSOLUTELY WOULD HAVE INDEPENDENT REAR SUSPENSION, and that even the base model may offer it. Then they give us a car with a solid rear axle. After responding to countless queries of "Are you REALLY going to give us IRS, or are you just spewing BS?" with a firm "Yes. It will have IRS."That, and 300 piddly horses and 320 miserable ft lb from a freaking 4.6 liter V8.sensibleS13driver wrote: Im confused as to what makes it such a disappointment.
I never saw why the car was so popular...Especially when everyone loves the hatch, and the coupe is much better looking.Mr1der wrote:and really...if you wanna get into potential...how do you view the Corolla AE86?
